Hey, they want to hear from you! (Kerry fundraising e-mail)

Posted on 07/15/2004 5:04:48 PM PDT by formercalifornian

Do you have a story John Kerry and John Edwards need to hear?

John Kerry kicks off his front porch tour of America in Lansdowne, Pa. today. From now to Election Day, Kerry and Edwards will visit peoples' homes, sit on their front porches, and talk about why this election is so important to America's families. They will listen to peoples' stories and discuss the values we live by every day: family, responsibility, service, opportunity, inclusion, fairness, and faith.

While we can't meet with everyone face to face, we want to hear from you. Please share your story and tell us why this election matters to you. We will read every one of your responses, and share the most compelling stories by posting them on JohnKerry.com.

Please take a minute right now to click on the link below and share your story.

Here are some questions you can start with:

How has the economy affected your family? Do you have access to affordable health care? Has your college tuition increased? Are you struggling to provide your children the education they need to succeed? Do you have a son or daughter serving in the military? Are you a veteran? What values matter most to you?

Click the link below to share your story.

This is a campaign about building a stronger America. We can't let the relentless attack ads of the Bush-Cheney campaign drown out your voice. Thanks to your support, we have been able to fight back against these ads in key battleground states. Please continue your support and tell your fellow Americans why this election matters to you.

Thank you,

Mary Beth Cahill Campaign Manager

Please share your story. There's even a link.

Dear John, My family was struggling. We were trying to make it on one income, my husband working so I could care for our own children and not farm them out to a child holding pen. Taxes were crushing us. We struggled but were hanging on, making it on our own. No longer would we accept federal help for school lunches, though we were well within the income guidelines. We were sinking fast, cutting back on everything. Then, Bush was elected. Child tax credits! We were saved. I urge you, John, with all the values you mentioned in your e-mail, to vote Bush 2004.

I am married with two children. We are not rich, our combined incomes were about 70K. With the improved economy and tax cuts my wife was able to quit her job and stay home. We have good health insurance and thank God daily that our country has the finest healthcare system in the world. We would very much apperciate it if you would throw the election to W and not muck everything up.

Here is a story for Mr. Kerry,

Listen up you double talking flip flopping Liberal, you're not welcome on my front porch. If I need to convey my expectations to a Politician, I'll do so to someone who actually stands for something and isn't just blowing smoke up my arse. So you and that pretty boy lawyer you chose for a running mate should stick to chasing Widows and Ambulances, It's what you do best

Poor Jaques Keri, born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

The more people see of him, the less they like him and his girlfriend the ambulance chaser.

Not to mention the billion dollar woman with the $5.00 haircut he's married to.

Dear John,

As a middle class family, we are unable to buy our son an $8000.00 bike like you own. Would you find it in your heart to sell one of your many many homes, and use the funds to buy children from all over this country an $8000.00 bike?

My letter... aheHHHmmmm..

When Reagan cut the tax rates in the 80's I was just a struggling 18 year old. No real education or experience.

I started at a company making $3.65 an hour in 1982. My future wife started there shortly after I did. After we worked there for 5 years, we had saved close to $15,000 and made a down payment on a house. I still live in this house, it's paid for. I still work at the same company 23 years later earning $XX.90 per hour, my wife doesn't work by choice. You know, if it wasn't for the reduction in tax rates by Ronald Reagan, I would be sleeping in a gutter today.

Thank you god for giving us a leader today to lead us in these troubled times. A leader that so much reminds me of Ronald Reagan.

Bush/Cheney 04- Keep the adults in charge. Plus p_ss off the liberal media to boot!

My story:

Hey Kerry,

How do I know that if you came to sit on my porch and talk you wouldn't turn around and tell me just what I want to hear and a whole different story to someone else? My family is struggling to provide my brother and I with an education. Even with a family income of 100K and stocks to pay for school, we still have a hard time making things meet. The tax cut went to buy books and a computer. Guess we're another one of those wealthy Americans that should pay for everyone else. Has my tuition increased? Yes, but the dot com bubble burst in 2000 drained the endowment and the private school I go to is adding more services. What values matter to me? A respect to life, the importance of a mother and father, a respect for individual rights, hard work, responsibility, America first. But I don't see any of your policies reflecting those. Most of all, I value in a president, balls enough to do what is required to protect America from terrorists and stand for what's right, but you don't even have balls to give America a consistent honest stance on any issue. How can we expect you to deal with Al-Qaida?
----

How much to you want to bet only gushing stories will be posted or the I suffer from 5 diseases, Aids, and cancer and am homeless stories about prescription drugs will be shown

Dear Johns,
I have been thinking about marrying some rich ugly woman to make my life easier. Can you give me some tips on how to do this since you did it twice already?

I HOPE HE CAN HELP!

Dear Mr. Kerry,

I would like to share my story - since the election of President Bush things have been awful. Just this past year, I paid almost 35% less taxes than the previous year - HOW AWFUL!!!! - I mean, people not willing to work and living off government subsidies could have used my money! By the way, I'm not even rich (less than $200,000.00 a year - far LESS than you) and I got a tax cut - how awful!!!!! Education is another sore spot - as a teacher, it is the dumbest thing I ever heard to hold schools accountable! I mean, our last President had sex while directing international affairs and he wasn't held accountable, why should I be!?! Just increase teacher salaries and please don't expect the schools to produce anything for it - I mean, the less educated people are the more they believe and are better voters - RIGHT! Oh, and the war!! It is a disgrace that this President didn't show the same fortitude and strong responses to terror that President Clinton did in the first Trade Center attacks and the Cole bombing! And the Abu-Ghirab incidents - why can't Iraq go back to the good old days of torture with cut off hands, cut out tongues, rapes, and killing with chemical weapons? The nerve of disgracing terrorists! I mean, you were in Vietnam for four months - you can do a lot better (P.S. - next time, duck!). Anyway, lets go back to the proven method of negotiating with evil leaders (Didn't that work for Chamberlain?). Lastly, medical care is getting to be very expensive - I hope that you will battle the trial lawyers that drive up health care costs with frivolous lawsuits (especially in my home state of N.C.) Thank you for your sincere concern, I hope that you can lead this great country to better things!

Sincerely,
Christopher Rach

Today Kerry stated he would meet with any group whether they agree with him or not. What if some organization that doesn't support him but offered an invitation for a meeting and made this offer public? Maybe a group like Vietnam Vets against John Kerry?

I think Kerry forgot he was talking to sensitive African-Americans when he talked about the "front porch campaign".
