Like how much time does spend

huh? You spent too much time in Russia.

But if you are asking how much time it consumes, well, it just depends. My current CAL team practices at least 3 nights a week, for 4 or 5 hours.

I guess if we had a FR clan, we could join ProvingGrounds.com (a less serious league) and challenge DU'ers to join it too....

LOOKIE THIS!!!
Gamespot.com has different movies and screenshots of the XBox version of Doom 3. Check it out.

I pay for it, so I don't know if it's available on the "Free" side.

I really do appreciate and respect your point of view, but you should really look at it much deeper. Search for some of the psych studies and see what they say about problem solving and video games. Do you think reading is a waste of time? Playing a game is the same as reading a book, but instead of being a passive experience/observer you become an active participant. You are no longer just reading how someone else solved a problem... you have to solve it. I may get flamed for this, and this is not meant to offened, but maybe if the people at NASA had played games they would have scrutinized the situation a little bit better and prevented a tragedy that didn't have to happen.

Take Care,

I used to use an AMD chip, but left them when Germany began stabbing us in the back.

An FX-53 is about $800, with the 939 pin being a tad more. If I am going to spend that kind of cash, I will dump $200 more in and get the 3.4EE with the 2 MB level 3 cache, in the 775 pin form(the 925X chipset, when available).

I might look at AMD's 64 bit systems when Windows 64 comes out in retail version (its only a beta right now)though I'm not sure the 64 bit is going to be as hot as some people say.

The dooms got too hard to use. I'd rather download user written WAD's. City of Doom was quite nice.

And I wish they'd give us more Duke Nukem 3D. The first was really a hoot, and had a lot of secrets and problems. That game was alot of fun to play.

I'm not sure the 64 bit is going to be as hot as some people say.

You should get quite a boost from experiences already had with UT on 64-bit Linux. From Tim Sweeney of Epic games:

The extra registers [actually, twice the registers] can give you a significant performance gain in loops which currently have to spill over into memory. The on-die memory controller reduces the path for uncached reads significantly, which is a huge win for applications like Unreal which are memory-limited. On the other hand, pointers grow from 4 bytes to 8, so traversal of linked data structures takes an additional bandwidth hit. I think you'll probably see a clock-for-clock improvement over Athlon XP of around 30% in applications like Unreal that do a significant amount of varied computational work over a large dataset.
Going 64 may not help with word processing, but it apparently will help quite a bit with these demanding games. This is an AthlonXP vs. 64 comparison, which counts an architecture that just in general gives at least a 10% improvement, but you should see maybe a 10%+ improvement going from 32 to 64 on the same AthlonFX chip.

Do you play SP or on the ladder?

Heya. I play both. I play a lot on Battle.net, mainly because I have a bad habit of starting many characters. :)

Haven't heard of the synergies or the unlimited stash, are these hacks?

I'm up for a game anytime.

The synergies are where points in one skill strengthen another skill, for example as a Paladin putting points in sacrifice will add 12% per point to zeal damage, there are many other synergies. Mainly it helps to add more variety to builds as not make them as "cookie cutter" and makes use of those wasted unused skills. It's a new feature that came with the 1.10 patch, you have them if you are playing on Battlenet.

The unlimited stash is one of the features of ATMA, a third party muling program. It has a number of other features like a bank that you can share amoung characters and a drop calculator. It is for SP only.

Hey, I just finished building a PC a couple of days ago and I have the Thermaltake Xaser III Super Tower. Building from scratch was great because I could get exactely what I wanted (within budget).

I still think I am going to hold off on the next Gaming Box. The PCI Express X16 interface for video cards may just be worth the wait.

Cool, I'll keep it in mind the next time I replay. Though I didn't mind giving the credits to the bounty-hunted dude on Taris, raising a mental middle finger in the direction of Ayn Rand the whole time. ;-)

The one thing that amazes me is that on Korriban I can be the equivalent of a heroin smuggler and Mafia errand boy for the Hutts and not get a single darkside point, but I get darkside points if I waste a freaking slaver even after offering to bring him in alive. The lightside/darkside point system in KOTOR mystifies me sometimes.
