Man arrested with suicide note on flight to Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS - The war on terrorism is again at Minnesota's front door after federal authorities arrested a man who they suspect has terrorism ties.

Federal sources told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS the man was arrested last Wednesday at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Sources in the Twin Cities and in Washington D.C. said the man arrived on a flight and was taken into federal custody. Along the way, customs agents found disturbing items in his possession.

The U.S. Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that Ali Mohamed Almosaleh is in federal custody in the Twin Cities. He was being detained on an immigration law violation, but federal sources confirmed there is much more than that to this investigation.

Sources confirm Almosaleh was carrying a suicide when he was arrested. They say that note indicated a specific time and date for carrying out some sort of public suicide. He was also carrying CDs and DVDs, which federal sources say contained anti-American material. A source also confirms Almosaleh had something with him indicating a connection with at least one known terrorist.

"One of the first things that comes to mind is is he actually going to do something that's the first concern," said terrorism expert Bill Michael. "Second, if law enforcement believes he is, and now rightly so they take an overly safe approach and they try and determine what activity he might actually be planning to engage in."

Almosaleh arrived on a KLM flight last week. A source confirmed he began his travels in Syria and stopped in Amsterdam before continuing to the Twin Cities.

A federal source would not say where Almosaleh's final destination was, but that source did indicate it appears Almosaleh had plans to travel beyond the Twin Cities.

One federal official in Washington noted, this is a "very sensitive" investigation.

Thank you for the ping.

I doubt he was the only one, I wonder how many were missed in other locations.

Your post reminds me of my trip to the post office this afternoon. As I was leaving, I saw a man carefully flipping through the wanted postings. I can't think when I've ever seen that happen. I hope he was a concerned citizen rather than someone checking for his own picture . . .

But, look at the article carefully! The source of information is very carefully obscured. In fact, a TSA inspector could have called the TV station and revealed something that Homeland Security wanted kept quiet.

Had the ultra-left wing media covered this story, it would have lead with concerns over racial profiling, not anything about kerrorism.

If the goods guys had picked this kerrorist up, it seems to me they'd want some time to see if they couldn't get some of his buddies to raise their heads. No, this is a strange story. Ther's much more to it.

Perhaps you should have said "what do all terrorists on the FBI's Most Wanted List have in common" or "What do all islamic terrorists have in common"...

However, you said, and I quote "What do all terrorists seem to have in common?" and I was just pointing out that not all terrorists are Middle Eastern, or Islamic. A perfect example would be the Japanese Red Army - one of those unreformed commie terrorist groups who operate out of the Bekka valley, and do jobs for various Paletinian groups on occasion.

While I agree that keeping an eye on, and paying closer scrutiny, to those with muslim names is a good idea, I also want to be sure that people don't get tunnel vision and think that they have nothing to worry about from that irish guy, or that Japanese guy or that french guy, or that Bulgarian guy, or...

Get my meaning?

Sources confirm Almosaleh was carrying a suicide when he was arrested.

Now, that would be a 'dead giveaway' for sure.

True enough, and I understood. I just want to make sure that we all keep an eye open for anything, and anyone, acting in a manner consistent with being "up to something" regardless of who they are... especially if they are leftists, since in recent years leftist groups have been responsible for more acts of terrorism in this country than anyone else, including islamokazis (who, though, have the higher body count)...

This is more proof that the concealed carry law should NOT be repealed in Minnesota.

Well, probably 90 percent or more of the terrorist groups on the international stage received training in the Mid-east and Northern Africa at one time or another.

And why not? The Left-Wing and the Islamic Groups have been intertwined for years, thanks mostly to the then Soviet Union and her allies.

It's no different today - we'll eventually find out that groups like International ANSWER and MoveOn.org receive some funding from Middle Eastern sources. After all, they have the same goals...

But, I will stand by my assertion that not all terrorists are Middle Eastern - and that, my FRiend is a documented 100% fact.

Thanks for playing. ;0)
