Presidential candidate John Kerry has just hired Mara Vanderslice as his religion outreach director. She formerly served as Howard Dean's religion director.

CNSNews reports on Vanderslice's strange views and background. According to Catholic League head William Donohue, Vanderslice allegedly became a Christian at Earlham College, a Quaker school. While at Earlham, she was a member of the Earlham Socialist Alliance and supported the release of cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. She openly embraces Marxism.

After graduation, Vanderslice spoke up at ACT Up rallies and took place in riots against the World Trade Organization in Seattle in 2002.

Senator Kerry also recently came out in favor of Gay Pride Month.

At least he didn't choose Hillary's "rabbi" Michael Lerner.

'Christian' at a Quaker school and openly embraces Marxism. Yep, sounds about right for Jeffin' K's religion honcho.

If this is his choice for Religious Outreach, I can't wait to hear his choices for cabinet positions. I hope there is pressure for him to do so before the election.

Is it too late for Kerry to switch? I'm sure that Hillary wouldn't mind loaning "Rabbi" Lerner to Kerry for a while.

This post is almost a month old. Any recent news regarding her in her new position?

What new position? Anyway, it doesn't matter if this news is almost a month old. If this is the kind of person John Kerry surrounds himself with, then people need to know.

Don't Kerry's political/religious philosophies matter? Surely Kerry wouldn't pick someone that has/had views such as she without him agreeing with her on these to some degree.

Shouldn't Kerry be asked why he picked her for this position, given this information concerning her?

Evidently Vanderslice doesn't realize that Christianity and Marxism don't mix.

Who knows just what, and whom she would reach out to. The same goes for Kerry, given he picked her for this.

Somebody ought to the United Methodists higher-ups that. Might put a crimp in 90% of their 'ministry'.

Those who advocate that Christianity and Marxism can mix,(Methodists, maybe) erroneously use the scripture "...and they[Christians] had all things in common."

That's not commUnism, that's commOnism.

CommUnism: What's thine is mine.

CommOnism: What's mine is thine.
