truth bump
In a recent letter to the editor, Michael A. Crawford misrepresented President George W. Bushs military service and, in the process, demeaned every National Guard member. The National Guard and reserves most certainly are part of the armed forces - not cowards - as many Ohio and West Virginia guardsmen currently in harms way in the Middle East would tell you.
Mr. Crawford says its time to get the draft-dodgers and cowards out of the White House (but enough about Bill Clinton!), presumably to be replaced by a traitor and war criminal. Thats right, John Kerry claims he and his fellow U.S. servicemen in committed uncountable atrocities in Vietnam, from rape and torture to mutilation and electrocution. Curiously, members of Kerrys unit dont back up his accounts. The Ohio Valleys Vietnam war veterans should be offended by such false and outrageous claims.
While still a member of the U.S. Navy, Kerry - by his own admission - twice met with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong officials in Paris. He testified in 1971 before the Senate Intelligence Committee that he wholeheartedly support the communist enemys demands at the Paris peace talks.
Sen. John McCain, a former prisoner of war, has said his North Vietnamese captors used reports of Kerrys antiwar activities to demoralize and taunt the American POWs.
The question in 2004 should be which candidate will effectively deal with terrorism and help improve the economy today - areas in which President Bush has proven himself competent. Instead, Sen. Kerry - who never lets us forget he served in Vietnam - and his Bush-bashing supporters seem to prefer living in the past. If he insists that Vietnam is relevant to this campaign then, to be fair, we should look at his whole record. Its not impressive.
The reason I have reposted it here is to encourage everyone to write letters to their local papers. People really do read them, and if you live in an area with a large veteran or older population, as do I, Kerry's anti-U.S. military/pro-Communist activities may strike a nerve, even among traditional Democrats.
Well Gosh Golly Gee .. those endorsements for Kerry and Edwards just keep piling up don't they ?
I'm shocked! I'll have to send this to my brother who moved from Houston TX because it was too conservative. He likes Seattle but hopes it will become a little more "progessive". This scares the heck out of me.

If it does not settle down, I am afraid at some point in perhaps the relatively near future that we're headed for civil war.
LOL, like this is news. Of course they support Kerry. He supports them too.
A visit to the CPUSA website failed to reflect a direct endorsement of Kerry although common sense would dictate that if they promote a defeart of Bush they must.
The Bush campaign needs something direct to hang their hat on.
Thanks for the ping. Great (and useful) information.
Well, seeing that Kerry IS a communist, the endorsement is only natural.
Communist Party USA supports John Kerry
John Kerry supports Communist Party USA
Yeah, we've all know this for quite a while, but it's nice to see it being reported in a paper....(especially in FL)

We are winning ~ the bad guys are losing ~ trolls, terrorists, communists, democrats and the mainstream media are sad ~ very sad!
CPUSA and Johnny go way back. Fonda, Ortega, Castro....
Sometimes it's hard to believe that we used to have common sense.
