For your reading pleasure (Hi Bush war room!!!)....
Of course, only Bush spins, although Kerry has a war room, too.... And some (unnamed) Presidential scholars say Bush is going negative... More Slimes nonsense in an otherwise interesting article.

Mr. Bush's operation, however, is rooted more in offense, devised to seek out and exploit every possible opportunity to paint Mr. Kerry as a political equivocator who switches positions on important issues when it suits his political interest. Good!! Let the Dems play defense for a change!!

It's interesting that the Bush team showed some of their tactics and facilities to the enemy NYT. I hope they didn't show everything.

Sounds like the tactics are the same whether defensive or offensive.
- Find out what Kerry said
- Find examples where he said or did the opposite
- Fight to get it through the liberal media filter

As such, the war room is the nerve center of what Democrats, and some presidential scholars, have called the most relentlessly negative re-election campaign in memory Yeah, this is really unbiased journalism!! I will start to believe that Bush is fighting dirty when he does something to match the NAALCP equating Bush with causing the death of James Byrd. The Dems are the dirtiest, but the NYT blames it on Bush. What a POS!! I do not understand bush letting reporters in to see their war room. To me, it is obvious that this is the type of article that will result. It gains the GOP nothing.

Uh, guys, if you're reading this, I haven't given up on Kucinich yet, but I don't think the Monster Raving Loony Party got on any ballots in this country, so I guess it'll have to be Bush after all.
There's an entire demographic out here that's barking moonbat nuts, and dang it, we demand representation!

This is negative reporting about negative campaigning. The negative reporting automatically cancels anything bad about negative campaigning.

"They're doing an incredible job of trying to mop up after a failed administration that's made America less safe and less secure."
What really amazes me about the Democrats and statements like those above is the fact that they NEVER support their statements with facts or examples. (I'm an English teacher and I blast my students when they don't support their ideas with facts!)
Bush calls Kerry a flip-flopper and PROVES it. Kerry continually says contradictory statements that Bush can use to support what he says. Bush's team is smart and observant (much more than the journalists, as pointed out in the story)..but Kerry makes it easy for them too.

It seems the NYT pursued this article primarily to take that jab against Bush's negative campaigning, despite all the other fascinating tidbits they threw into the article.

"It's the Hypocrisy, Stupid," a play on the famous sign in Mr. Clinton's 1992 war room, "It's the Economy, Stupid."
In turn, the krinton war room slogan is a direct rip-off of the 1980's vintage NRA slogan "It's the Criminals, Stupid!" that was hung on a giant banner outside the beltway headquarters of the NRA.
Some how, this fact didn't make it into the story. Musta' been an oversight...
