Afew things I need to get off my mind:
Tom Cruise will present a tribute to Pat Tillman during the ESPY Awards. You remember Tillman, who quit the NFL to join the Army Rangers and was killed in Afghanistan earlier this year. You remember Cruise, who in lieu of a box-office hit will happily reach millions of homes via ESPN.
Words I expect Cruise to use during the Tillman tribute: hero, courage, warrior.
Sentiments I don't expect Cruise to express during the Tillman tribute: unjust war, his poor widow, what was he thinking?
Remind me not to watch.

This has been bugging me for nearly 20 years...I just purchased season one of LotL on DVD, and I never could figure out why the words to the opening went like that..."Marshall, Will, and Holly"...the father's name was RICK. Their LAST name was Marshall. Given that, the words don't really make sense.

You beat me to it and I suppose I'll be scourged for saying this, but why isn't she writing a cooking column and leaving the sports writing to a MAN? I will now duck under my desk.
I was thinking the other day...wouldn't it be nice if as many fans as possible show up for opening day this September with Tillman #40 jerseys on...a sea of white throughout all NFL stadia as a tribute to that remarkable guy.
Which is made all the more sad because Tillman himself did his best to make himself just one of the troops, even refusing the Army's request to use his enlistment for recruiting and promotional purposes.
Make sure you bring a copy of ESPN the Magazine with you so you can catch up on all of the WNBA news.... :^)

GG, you did a great job. The question I have is, why is Tom Cruise doing this? Seems like it would be more appropriate for Bill Bidwell or someone with the Arizona Cardinals who was a teammate of Pt Tillman. This is, after all, a sports oriented show.
