I think a lot of mistakes have been made in Iraq as well but I am still glad we did it. I think the biggest mistake was allowing the stockpiles of weapons to remain unguarded and undestroyed.

True enough but that statement can be said for every war we've ever been in. Look at all the 'mistakes' that happened on D-Day, Tarawa, Iwo Jima. Despite those mistakes, we learned and we won. Same thing is happening in Iraq. We've never fought this kind of war so mistakes are natural. What's important are the overall results which, no surprise, have gone generally well and unreported.

The mistake was going to the UN for 6 months of BS. (I also understand this was a logistical necessity to get the troops, supplies, and battle plans worked out.)
