There is a 1.8km neutral zone before the riders reach the site of the official start. The weather is more akin to summer after the first rest day. Tour de Frogylvania. Good morning Aeronaut. Gotta tell ya, if Armstrong wasn't over there trying to win his sixth, I couldn't care less about this event.
I must say though, the thought of him winning his sixth, a record that would have to stand for at least seven years, makes me crack up.
This event is Frances's world series, and I would just love to have it shoved in their faces that a guy from the U.S. dominated their event so completely.
As you can tell, France has sunk bellow door matt status at my house. We've got a scrapper by the front door just in case I step in some France while I'm out.

Okay, thanks. LOL, I'm losing track of the days. Sheesh.

Hey, I'm with you on the franse thing. If I didn't love cycling I'd have nothing to do with this race. Although..., the stick-it-to-em factor is certainly there.

The only problem with the Tour is how fast the days get away. The last time I watched it was day 5. I better start watching OLN daily.

I better start watching OLN daily. You definitely got a chance to see it. I listen to the race online in the morning (on and off between stuff) and then I watch the race later that night.
Also, all you have to do is turn the channel to OLN and you have a 90% chance of seeing the race, either live or rebroadcast. They are replaying it several times (I think 4 times) throughout the day, with 9 PM replay having some extended coverage (more interviews, basically).

This event is Frances's world series, and I would just love to have it shoved in their faces that a guy from the U.S. dominated their event so completely. The French government will not allow Armstrong to win a seventh Tour. An "anonymous", nutcase "fan" out of the crowd who grabs his handlebars or throws a metal rod through his wheel, some oil "carelessly" spilled on a cobblestone road somewhere, HGH surreptitiously placed into his water bottle or in a drink handed to him out of the crowd. They simply hate Americans right now too much to allow him to win. Its going to happen, you can bank on it.

If you happen to have on-demand cable, OLN has highlights of each stage of the Tour available anytime around the clock. I just got caught up on Sunday afternoon...

I think he'd have to win a sixth first.

He has stated in the past that while he been given champagne from the crowd during the last day of riding in Paris, he doesn't dare drink it.

He has stated in the past that while he been given champagne from the crowd during the last day of riding in Paris, he doesn't dare drink it. Can't say I blame him. There are simply too many wackjobs out there for him to take the risk.

think he'd have to win a sixth first. Good catch. I meant "sixth" of course.

I have to deal with a frog who recently moved into a new building for a "company" I'm loosely associated with, i.e., it's costing me my job. Well, the building had been previously occupied by Indonesians who thought it would be a good idea to put up an American Flag. So FrenchFry comes along, and he doesn't like the flag on the front of the building so he takes it down and lays it on the floor of the conference room.
None of us have seen it yet, but if it is still there when we do there's going to be trouble. I told my friend to ask the frog how he likes the Tour de Lance.

Think nothing of it. One should never let the facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.
