First, why aren't private funds pouring into (investing) something that seems to hold such potential? This argument doesn't really hold water. No investor in his right mind is going to buy into something that is at serious risk of being severely restricted or banned by the government.

Bullsh*t. They do it all the time with pharmaceuticals. People invest in drugs that the FDA later fails to approve all the time. The fact of the matter is that the benefits to using stem cells for babies hasn't been shown. That's why nobody wants to dump money into it. That's also the reason why the left feels the need to have OUR money dumped into it.
