LOS ANGELES - (KRT) - In a move sure to embarrass Republicans, Ron Reagan will address the Democratic National Convention this month.

Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan and an outspoken critic of the Bush administration, will be at the podium on the second night of the four-day event in Boston, July 27, in support of stem-cell research, he said Sunday in an interview here.

David Wade, a spokesman for Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, confirmed Reagan's appearance, but sources said the date had not been determined. Scott Stanzel, press secretary for President Bush's campaign, declined to comment.

Reagan, a Seattle resident with his wife, clinical psychologist Doria, said he was contacted about two weeks ago by the Democratic National Committee. He said he "had a nice chat" on the phone with Kerry, "but he wasn't pushing me. I had already decided."

The Reagan's are true Americans. Ron Reagan Jr. takes after his dad. What guts, what intellect. Adopted Michael Reagan on the other hand was called 'Putz' by Ronald Reagan, and Michael would walk around calling himself a Putz until he was 15 years old and finally figured out it wasn't a term of endearment... No wonder he's so screwed up today.

This is simply the demo response to Zell Miller speaking at the Repub convention. Ronny is a liberal--probably a registered demo--and it isn't news.

Yeah ... this is definitely sad. President Reagan must be turning in his grave. Ronald Prescott is doing something with a group of evil people that are so against his father's principles. Frankly this just baffles me. I can understand the kid having a liberal mind and all that ... but you gotta draw the line at openly siding with the enemy - especially one so evil as this one.

When Ron gets on that podium and declares that if his father were alive he too would be voting for Kerry ... what's everyone going to think then?

I can't find the link right now but that's OK.

Thanks for the nuke!

Who cares? Ronald P Reagan was never anything but a liberal, as is Patty. The media will make a big deal of this, but it is really just stupid, I mean, we never saw Ron for years until his Dad's funeral. Who is he anyway?

What's everyone going to think? Well, the left doesn't, to begin with.

WE know the truth....but it's those fence-sitters, those people who lined our freeways out here for the final passing of a great man, the THOUSANDS who were at the Capitol...THOSE are the people I care about.

They'll see, they'll know.

Why would this embarrass Republicans? Little Ronnie has always been a flaming, uh, liberal. Evidently grace and good judgement aren't hereditary.

LOL.. My late husbands name was Ron. He had no middle name. We named our oldest son Ron but he's not a Jr. (he has a middle name) He was always called Ron,Jr. He has always been the rebel of the family. Kinda freaks me out.

Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan and an outspoken critic of the Bush administration,

was, IIRC, also an outspoken critic of the Reagan administration.

Not that it means anything at all, because it doesn't. Most hardcore leftists were and are stauch critics of both administrations, even if they couldn't articulate any sensible reason for being so. Let them eat cake.

I need to shower and go to bed now.

Aren't Conventions only supposed to have important people speak at them? Ron Reagan isn't even elected to anything. Hell, why don't Republicans just have Harry Truman's grandson speak in New York. It would make about as much sense.

"In a move sure to embarrass Republicans..."

I'd say the only person to be embarrassed, or who should be embarrassed, is Ron himself. What an obnoxious twit.

I suspect his father would be pained if he knew what Ron was doing. Very sad.

"I'd say the only person to be embarrassed, or who should be embarrassed, is Ron himself." Agreed. He is betraying everything is father stood for. Ronald Reagan would have been proud of President Bush. Maybe someday, his son will understand. Michael Reagan is doing a good job and will more then make up for Ron. Hopefully Michael will speak at the Republican Convention.

Hail to the King Baby.

And what makes it even more amusing is that Ronnie is big on insulting W as being stupid, and only succeeding because of his daddy. Meanwhile, Ron is an MSNBC political commentator, even though he's never run for office, worked in a campaign, written any great political analysis, or done much of anything, except profit off *his* daddy's name.
