Stop Made On Interstate 80 POSTED: 8:19 am CDT July 15, 2004 UPDATED: 8:34 am CDT July 15, 2004 COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa -- Two people are in custody after law enforcement officials said they found a bomblike device in the couple's SUV.
The Joint Terrorism Task Force was called into help, which includes the Secret Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms, and Explosives, and the FBI, was called to help.
The traffic stop happened just east of Council Bluffs on Interstate 80 near mile marker 16. Investigators said they pulled over a Ford Explorer with two people -- a man and a womanwere -- inside .
The Iowa State trooper became suspicious after finding some items inside the SUV, including a device they thought might be an explosive. The Omaha Police Department's bomb unit was called in to help and bomb-sniffing dogs did not detect anything.
The FBI said one of the two people in question had multiple forms of identification. They believe the two are from California. They have not been charged.
Hopefully the Iowa State trooper was doing some profiling.
I see no names nor physical descriptions?
Thanks for posting this.

Gosh darn it, are we allowed to know who these people are??
It is so maddening, they say the two are from California.....well who the heck are they? What did they look like.......OH NO we can't say that, no profiling allowed!! Somebody slap me.
Why were they stopped? Why did the officer become suspicious?
"Might be an explosive" Well it either is or it isn't.
