I don't think they have them.

(I agree that they do exist...you can see that in my post. Just that a major nuclear power would be the ones who could miniaturize them into suitcases.)

My reason: they haven't used them.

I have no doubt they would have been used if they have them. The attack on Iraq would have been the ideal provocation and it didn't produce a nuke attack. This is especially true, if, as we are told that have about 20 or more of these things.

Surely one of them would have been blown to send a message.

They don't have them, in my view.

BUT...if we are ever attacked by nukes, we should respond with nukes. There should be no doubt about that. We should respond whether we're certain who did it or not.

"My reason: they haven't used them."

Using that logic, no one else has them either, other than the US.

I have no doubt they would have been used if they have them. The attack on Iraq would have been the ideal provocation and it didn't produce a nuke attack. This is especially true, if, as we are told that have about 20 or more of these things."

You're possibly misunderstanding the problem. They are not fighting a defensive war. The only "provocation" that they require is our (and Israel's) existence. Projecting a secular reaction to a religious problem won't work. You're trying to put yourself in their shoes, and that's appropriate as far as it goes, but you also need to put yourself into their minds.

"Surely one of them would have been blown to send a message."

What would that message be? Why would they show their hand, given their announced goals? They are sending plenty of messages. They posture with words. Other than that, they act. These guys are highly trained, highy motivated, and highly educated. They have a plan for long term victory. There will be no truce or compromise. Islam demands that we submit or die. That's at the very core of their religion, and hence at the very core of our problem.

I'm going to paraphrase this again, becuse I don't remember the actual words that are hammered into them in their training:

"I will be patient until patience is tired of being patient."
