Bookmarked. Unable to keep up with all posts, so I won't try to post my summary as before. However, we are all still here as of July 14, 2004. One more day left in the initial hypothetical window of attack on Europe. For you Freepers in Mississippi, sure is humid here!
"And a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him,'Teacher, do you not care if we perish?' And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace! Be still!' And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, 'Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?' And they were filled with awe, and said to one another, 'Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey him?'" Mark 5:37-43
You are the Living Lord, O God, Creator of Heaven and Earth ... there is nothing unknown to You. You know the troubled waters we are struggling through ... You know that evil men are waiting to crash upon us as deadly waves, sending us into oblivion. Many there are who would encircle us, like sharks to prey, and great is their number. Remind us, O Lord, that all power in Heaven and Earth is vested in us as children of the Living God. Rebuke this storm around us, O Lord, even as we rebuke the fear in us, for You are our Captain ... our Pilot. Gather us together in this stormy sea, that we might call upon Your Mighty Name to not only hold back the storm, but to calm the angry sea. Look with mercy upon us, O Lord ... sweep away the enemy, every one of them ... send them back into the sea as You did Pharaoh's chariots ... that our beloved country might journey to safe harbor ... may we yet walk in peace and safety on the dry land set before us. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
