There is something on the plane that is causing people's eyes to burn.
They don't know if it is a smoldering fire, a toxic cargo leak, someones mace/pepper spray, or a deliberate attack.
So they KEEP THE PEOPLE ON THE PLANE FOR FOUR FREEKING HOURS!?!?!

Yep....seems they need to get the entire "story" straight before letting it out to the media.
Some of us have pretty good reading and comprehension skills.....and read more than just the headline.

There was ONE man they let off of the plane, said his leg was finished in South Bend. Hmmmmm.
