"Thanks. This only about the ten thousandth thread about boycotts today.

I'm running away!
"

You'll never now how that made me laugh!

I have complete empathy for you, (and me) and am retiring to the kitchen bar to have a scotch & soda.

Enough is enough!

Besides GWB is a big boy, and he'll handle these %@$#*&!@+. ;)

My wife shows the same frustration with me.
But I'm not ready to roll over and play dead yet.

My note to Unilever:
I realize that spokespersons are selected to appeal to consumers. I also realize that spokespersons are people who have a right to express their own opinions. However, when a company selects a spokesperson, they must consider the existing and potential offensive publicity that person may bring to the public eye.

Take for example Whoopi Goldberg: I have found her opinions unacceptable in the past - but I don't use Slim-Fast, so I didn't feel the need to act. Her vile rant during the recent fundraiser for the Democratic Party offended me enough to look deeper - and I found that I was paying money to Unilever - I buy Hellmann's/Best Foods Mayonnaise. I have contributed to her support and platform from which to offend me.

No longer: My *ONLY* mayonnaise *WAS* Hellmann's/Best Foods. Just like my *ONLY* ketchup *WAS* Heinz.

I will even pay more to avoid supporting those who would destroy the good, the civility, the honor in our society.

If Unilever repudiates Ms. Goldberg, and her vulgar statements, I will gladly reverse myself and make an effort to buy Unilever products because that will demonstrate to me the company supports a civil society.

I don't expect Unilever to react appropriately, so I'm no longer a Hellmann's buyer and I'm on the watch to avoid any other Unilever products.

It still angers me that the predominant brand of chicken in the military commissaries I frequent is Tyson.
