Daschle replied, "The report is so sobering and so serious that I cannot bring myself to believe anyone in this administration would use this for political purposes."

Now you know how serious the threat has to be for Daschle to say this.

Also, this is the briefing that Kerry "just didn't have to time" to listen to. He wants to be president, and can't find time to at least learn about the most serious threats our nation is facing.

The Democrats (Schumer, Hillary yesterday, Daschle today) are setting this up in a gamble there'll be an attack between now and the election. They're all actually attacking the president from the right. The report must have been really scary and you can tell they're hoping in their hearts for an attack.

Shameless. Treasonous. Typical.

So, Tom, will you be in Boston later this month? Someone needs to brief Kerry, and he's soooooo busy right now.

Let's see.... Kerry's too busy to vote in the Senate... too busy to attend committee meetings... too busy to attend briefings on the war on terror...

But he's not too busy to come to New York and play the guitar in a bash-Bush fundraising concert... not too busy to go on not one... not two... but, by my count THREE vacations (Sun Valley, Nantucket and Pittsburgh)....

Sounds like Al Quaeda is planning something really bad. Daschle's probably worried for his safety in Boston at the Democratic National Convention, if he thinks this is "so serious".

Now you know how serious the threat has to be for Daschle to say this. That is exactly was I thought when I read it. Now I'm trying to reconcile with myself why that is the case. I don't relish the idea of taking Daschle serious. eek.

Clinton "just didn't have to time", either. Too many extracurricular activities. Kerry's side line seems to be "zoning out."

If the terrorists were trying to mess up our elections, which do you think would be the most likely target?

the Dem convention,
the Pub convention,
or something else?

I simply can't believe that terrorists would want Bush to be reelected...that can't be to their advantage, regardless of what some libs have said.

The Dems are far more likely to ease up on terrorism and yet cave to their demands; so messing with the Dem convention and their chances of success would not seem useful.

Terrorists would probably want to 'punish' the Pubs for, in their minds, Afghanistan, Iraq and continued support for Israel. But I'm not sure if an attack on the Pubs would have the desired effect...it could possibly bring back the post-9/11 unity and nationalism that could sweep the Pubs to a landslide.

I can't think of what other targets might be in their heads that would affect our elections in the direction they want them to go.

The Dem lunatics don't have to worry. The terrorists are pulling for a "Hanoi John" victory!

This is scary, I must say ('specially since I work a block away from the Library Tower in LA which apparently has been identified as a target).

The only think that gives me pause on this is Daschle's comment about using this for political purposes. I guess I'd have to really see the context on this one. I wonder if there any hint sarcasm in his voice. If he's serious, then he's gone on record that he's on notice of the threat. Now I'd like to hear what he thinks we ought to do about it before it happens.

Of particular concern are the nation's borders

Hahaha. Since when has anyone in the government been concerned about the borders? Millions stream across it and yet nothing is ever done. When a terrorist sneaks across the border and kills thousands with God knows what type of weapon, Bush and every other politician will have blood on their hands.

What does Daschle know and when did he learn it? For future referance I'd like to know, cause he very kind of pointing a finger when he's got his hand in the pot.

...in the face of what he called the most sobering terror report he had heard recently.

Well ,if that's the case you can bet Kennedy didn't attend either.

Hope you don't mind (FairOpinion and Mossad) me posting Mossad's post from the Threat Matrix thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1164434/posts?page=3608#3608).....seems appropriate here, as there seems to be great interest in this topic....:

***(TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH)***

I really hesitated to post this, because it cannot be confirmed or denied, but it sounded odd...

I was visiting my mom tonight and she said that a good friend of hers at work told her the following:
She has a brother who works at the pentagon. He came to his sister and told her he was put on alert (my mom didnt ask what he does there) and he told his sister that she should stock up on canned food and water. He was not supposed to tell anyone, and made his sister say she wouldnt tell anyone and of course she proceeds to tell my mom.

I know, please dont jump all over me for posting this, I figured even if it wasnt true it cant hurt to hear it.

All I know is that the woman must have seemed serious enough, because my mom never pays any attention to this sort of thing and she made a stop at the store on the way home and got about 2 weeks worth of canned food and water and filled out a mail order form for 3 more months worth of medicine for my grandmother.

"Now you know how serious the threat has to be for Daschle to say this."

Exactly what I thought.

"He wants to be president, and can't find time to at least learn about the most serious threats our nation is facing."

Pretty revealing isn't it?

Dasshole does not have to worry. He will be at the Al Quida - Taliban Convention in Boston. The terrorists are not likely to disrupt their principal Public Relations Personnel (except for the Kean Follies)!

Daschle personally put the Jamie Gorelick on the 9-11 Commission, placing the American most responsible for the terrorist attack on the "investigation" committee.

Daschle and his cronies are the enemies of our nation.
