Man charged with sexually assaulting 12-year-old
Kevin B. Ruth, 34, was arrested Sunday on charges of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl over a three-year period, police officials said.
Ruth faces four counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Each charge carries a potential prison term between five and 99 years.
According to police reports, each rape took place at the child's home. The girl told police that Ruth engaged in sexual intercourse with her more than 40 times on weekends while her mother was at work.
The child was sent to University Medical Center where she was examined by representatives from Child Protective Services and the Rape Crisis Center. The examination revealed that the girl suffered injuries consistent with a sexual assault, reports said.
Police took Ruth into custody July 4 at UMC. Ruth was being treated at the hospital for self-inflicted wounds resulting from a July 1 suicide attempt, Lt. Jerry Brewer said.
Ruth is currently being held in the Lubbock County Jail. His bond is set at $150,000.
Look for child rapist defense lawyears to start latching on to the vague sexual orientation term.
This isn't case of randy teenagers having sex. This is statutory rape by an adult of a child. I hope he gets what he deserves.
I say ship him off to Fallujah, put him in underwear with a sign that says "I'm an American and I use the Koran for toilet paper". And send him walking down Main St.
