Elizabeth Edwards Defends Whoopi Raunchfest

The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fundraiser in New York.

Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.

"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fundraising breakfast on Manhattan's West side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

What happened to the "band of brothers/War Hero" schtick? That fizzled out, I guess. I thought they were going after the wimmen vote with Pretty Boy, and then all of a sudden they start groping each other! I called the wife, "Ma, get in here! Kerry is going to French kiss this sucker!"

Luckily, I didn't have to watch a reinactment of Al and Tipper, but it was creepy. Made me feel weird, like when I was a kid and the neighbor turned his garden hose on a couple of dogs that were "stuck together".

Someone needs to hose those two down.

Was I somehow unclear? I was saying that Elizabeth Edwards' comments were so stupid, there's really no need to call her names to point out the flaws in her thinking. And, calling her names is especially inappropriate since she is a woman, and the wife of a candidate.

I don't worry about Elizabeth Anania Edwards, Mamzelle. But I am shocked at the level of infantile, rude and vulgar comments on this thread. Again I say, don't stoop to the dem level. We're better than that...or so I thought.

She's a lawyer married to a cheesy ambulance-chaser. She raked it in by jimmying the system. Generally, I don't rag on heavy women. I'm making an exception with Elizabutt.

I'm amused that calling the lawyer Breck Girl garners no approbation, but calling his lawyer wife Lardbutt brings out the bluenosed and the swooners. Wonder if this could be a winner?

There is no more taboo subject than a woman's weight--and no one will admit that a good-looking man (and I'm told this bleach-toothed girly boy is good-looking) is pitied (pity=contempt) if his wife is old and fat.

Just like driving certain kinds of old clunkers.

Not much chance. We live in a cul-de-sac of moslty working families, but one of the houses has an absentee landlord, and is lived in by about 6 guys in their 20's. I call them the "gassed and the spurious" (my take on Fast and the Furious, as they are all into fake hotrods (i.e. 4-6 cylinder imports).

It's just not worth the hassle yet, since I would rather wear earplugs then get my tires sliced, etc hehe. Now that I have a wife and kids, I'm a lot more conservative with social relationship :) When I was a younger man, I'd have likely whipped several behinds by now.

Hollywood is so appearance-obsessed that Elizabutt must be causing much chagrin--they'll make a misstep soon. And nothing humiliates more than a woman being mistaken for her husband's mother. "Mrs. Edwards? Awwww. He's so nice to bring his mommy to the party."

Well, hopefully the landlord will raise the rent soon and they'll have to leave and you'll get some rest! We have a drug house down the street. They've been busted a couple times but business always picks up again.
