The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fundraiser in New York.
Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.
"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fundraising breakfast on Manhattan's West side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

Did they let their kids watch and listen? What a tramp.

Was Whoopi just angry when she talked this way about what she would like to do in the White House while Bill accupied it?

I hate it when Republicans cut someone because of their looks.
As much as I hate it when Republicans support someone because they are good looking, or famous.
Republicans should focus on priniples.
There is plenty to say, without stooping to the same level as our evil enemy.

I've settled in on "Elizabutt"-- but you may start the tune of "Baby Elephant Walk" at any time.
Looks like the Breck Girl has to buy lots of groceries.

**I was thinking of asking Jim to make a rule that anybody posting a disparaging comment about someone's looks must include in his/her post a picture ... and not from ten years ago either.**
bump!
I think there would be a lot less caustic remarks about Elizabeth Anania Edwards weight challenge if freepers were to post their pics alonside their remarks. I'm sure there's some real hum-dingers in the ranks. :o/

This lady doesn't get the point. The Whoopi Goldberg/Kerry show was OUTRAGEOUSLY OBSCENE. It deserves no defense, nor is any defense possible. The Dems should either apologize or say nothing,
and hope that the public moves on and forgets about it well before the election.Of course, I do not want Kerry/Edwards to win this election. So if the Dems keep wallowing in the mud trying to defend this raunchfest, between now and the election, it's fine with me!!!!

I questioned Mrs. Edwards judgment when she referred to Terayyza as "this brilliant woman."

You took the thought right out of my head! Guess it would be OK for her kids to watch the video of Daddy's first fund raising event. Family Values in Action!
I can't image Tereza and Elizzzzabeth in the White House!
To: AmericanMade1776
You said it.
I am proud that we have Condi Rice, Colin Powell and Rod Paige in President Bush's cabinet. This are not only great role models for young black Americans, but all American kids.
I believe there are going to be a lot of American's of color taking a hard look at the Cos's statements and realizing something's gotta change and it isn't going to be a new President in the White House!

No, Edwards did not serve in the Military. The DEMS are covering their tracks on this issue already.
Edwards had a high number in the draft Lottery and therefore did not serve his Country in any branch of the Armed Services.
It's not going to be an issue, unless he goes to Iraq and shows his cute little face to the real men and women who defend our Country. It would be probably the only time he would be even close to Military personnel.
To: not2worry
If Edwards does go to Iraq, I want to see/hear how the troops respond to the senator who voted against equipping them in a war zone.

You nailed it - that nasty smirk that says "I've got power!" I knew it reminded me of someone! The actress who played Ratchett had the smirk down pat. BTW being morbidly obese doesn't mean "completely devoid of any personal value as a humn being." But it does mean there is a problem.

Mrs. Kerry does appear like a space cadet most of the time. I can't figure it out, perhaps it is just her demeanor. I don't know how long she has lived in the USA, but I think long enough to lose that South Afrikan droll.
As far as weight is concerned, I do believe it is best to stay out of the trenches on this one, but I also believe that many women are overweight because they are unhappy and depressed. It seems to be a common thread, IMHO.
Mrs. Edwards reminds me of another PIAP. They have a lot in common, beyond their passion for black pantsuits.

"Apprently the lipstick on Whoopi's photocopied rear-end came from Liz Edwards."
Well, Whoopi DOES have such great hair...
