The wife of vice presidential hopeful John Edwards is defending Whoopi Goldberg after the potty-mouthed comedienne attacked President Bush with an X-rated monologue at Thursday night's Kerry-Edwards fundraiser in New York.

Rejecting calls for her husband's campaign to apologize for Goldberg's outburst, Mrs. Edwards said Friday that the anti-Bush tirade was justified.

"A lot of people are going to be angry - there's a lot to be angry about," she told reporters at a fundraising breakfast on Manhattan's West side. "It's a free country and people are going to express that anger."

Nope, I just think it takes a lot of gall for someone who can never go thru the experience of pregnancy to condemn someone for something that can't be helped.

Maybe Miss Liz is really a victim... of her husband's success in court. There was a thread a couple of days ago, how lawyers are being denied non emergency health care by physicians.
Perhaps she has tried to obtain plastic surgery Botox or lipo suction and has been turned down for fear of lawsuits by her hubby? It seems strange that most of the top Dems' wives have had obvious plastic surgery. Can you imagine what Theresa would look like if she hadn't had her skin tightened or Botoxed? Hillary obviously had modifications to her facial features prior to Bill's bid, and Chelsea's recent renovation has her looking like she is right out of Petticoat Junction.

C'mon you guys - I am gonna sound like Pollyanna here, but I think the people of this forum are of higher calibre than the Whoopi's of the world....

Edwards' wife hasn't said much to take offense at YET, but let's give her time and we can attack the content or lack of it in her words, rather than her physical characteristics.

There are too many brains floating around here to dabble in who is skinny and who is a chub.

I apologize if I sound snooty...because I know I do.... but as I say you guys are better than what I've read here.

Ok, I'm fluffy too but with that much money, I would have better hair and probably a bit of a nip and tuck. But all that aside, the good question is, was her teenage daughter there? If yes and Liz wasn't uncomfortable, then I don't want her taking Mrs. Cheney's place. (don't want it anyway but this is another reason)
