Though the Rats tirelessly cling to the idea that the 2000 election was "stolen" in Florida, Fiore does raise some issues of merit here concerning pitfalls of electronic voting.

I agree. BAD. I am a programmer who works on similar products (vehicle emissions testing). Trust me the certification process for our product was MUCH more rigorous then electronic voting.

In California all emissions inspection equipment has to be certified by the state before it can be used. And each new version has to be certified before it can be installed. But in the last election people were voting on voting machines that weren't even certified.

Part of the spiel by the RATs is that the maker of some of the machines were opening backing Pres. Bush. That, of course, leads to a new conspiracy theory by the party who votes for Buchannan rather than Gore.
