Lapdancer wins apology
The Australian ^ | July 09, 2004

LAPDANCER won an apology today from a British gossip magazine for falsely reporting that she did not have sex with former Westlife singer Bryan McFadden.

McFadden was quoted by Heat in November 2002 as denying he had sex with mother-of-two Amy Barker, one of two lapdancers hired for a stag party before his marriage to former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona.

"If it were true, the Westlife boys would never speak to me again," the 24-year-old Irish heart-throb said.

But in a published apology today, Heat - one of Britain's most popular showbiz weeklies - said it and McFadden, had both "implicitly accused Ms Amy Barker of lying" by denying she and the singer had sex.

"We and Mr McFadden accept that a sexual encounter did take place on this occasion and it was not our intention to accuse Ms Barker of lying," it said.

Barker's lawyer Graham Atkins said his client was "delighted" that the legal row had been resolved, adding that "the content of the apology speaks for itself". He declined to say if any damages were paid.

During proceedings, Barker claimed that during the stag party, she reluctantly "started off having sex (with McFadden), and after about a minute I pulled away and performed a sex act on him".

"I didn't enjoy it and it was over in three minutes," she said. "He was only concerned about his own needs. There was no feeling to it. When he finished he got up, didn't look at me, didn't say a word and walked out."

McFadden was one of the five original members of Westlife when they scored the first of their many European and Asian chart-topping hits in 1999. He left the group in March this year to embark on a solo career.

One hesitates to overgeneralize, but it sounds like they're all trash.

He posted an article this morning about the florida school teacher rapist nad got suspended. He will be back i am fairly sure. I hope so. I didn't see any single event worthy of a suspension, but also i don't know the full deal.

Well, that makes sense then. Posting about Nads is usually frowned upon... Especially if they belong to female school teachers... shudder...

Yes indeed. We now have sluts who insist upon being called sluts, and will happily take legal action to ensure that everybody recognizes their slutty status.

The concept of "shame" is apparently dead in the world.

He was only concerned about his own needs. There was no feeling to it.

Whereas she understandably anticipated that a man having sex with a stripper at a party would be intending to enter into a meaningful, mutually giving, relationship.
