My Dad needs your prayers - and a card, if you could.
After successfully battling colon cancer 4 1/2 years ago - and 3 follow up surgeries to correct problems with his colostomy - he was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer, with tumors on his spine and lung.
He started radiation treatments on one tumor but became too weak to get out of the house. We will be bringing in hospice care in a few days.
Your prayers for comfort are appreciated.
Why a card? My Dad is a collector of things. My local FReeper friends that have seen his house can attest to that. Pictures and cards are very meaningful to him. Computers and the Internet are not his cup glass of iced tea. If I printed this thread and presented it to him it wouldn't mean nearly as much as a card.
My Dad (Wilburn) is 80 years old and a widower. He served in the Pacific in WWII in the Navy Signal Corps.
Freepmail me for his address if you can send a card. I will reply as soon as I can.
Dad in the Pacific
What a beautiful young man he was!
And what a blessed man you are - to be there when your father passed, to be there when the man who created you was returned at last to the God who created him...
This is a gift far greater than some will ever have, that you held your father's hand til his angels took that hand and led him home. He looked back, and saw you there. You are blessed.

We hope you have gotten some comfort from the loving caring prayers sent to you and your dad.
Flyer, My prayers and my thoughts go out to you and your family.
Dear Father, please hold Wilburn in Your loving arms where he will remain for all of eternity, pain-free and in peace. Please give strength and support to those he left behind who will mourn his passing until they are reunited in Your House, forever. We ask these favors as Your humble and contrite servants in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
I wanted to share a photo of my Dad who also served as a sailor in WWII.
I was struck by the fresh-faced similarity of the two men.
