N. Korea Has Deployed Intermediate Range Ballistic Missiles
The Defense Ministry has officially confirmed for the first time that North Korea has in fact been deploying new intermediate range ballistic missiles, with ranges of 3,000~4,000km -- far longer than those of the Rodong 1 missiles that go 1,300km.
Defense Minister Cho Young-gil said before the National Assembly on Wednesday that the North produces and deploys new intermediate ballistic missiles, and continues missile development like engine experiments.
An official at the Defense Ministry said that the new intermediate ballistic missiles have ranges of 3,000 to 4,000km, but the official declined to reveal the number and the deployed locations of the missiles. The Ministry has not officially confirmed the existence of the missiles, and has neither acknowledged nor denied the reports about the development of the missiles. Sources said that the North is building two bases for these new missiles in Yangdok County in South Pyongyang Province and Hochon County in North Hamgyong Province.
A U.S spy satellite detected 10 units of these new missiles and launching sites at the two bases, the sources said. The new intermediate missiles can reach Hawaii and Guam, a U.S strategic stronghold, as well as Okinawa.
In connection with the reduction of U.S forces stationed in Korea, Defense Minister Cho said that the U.S. would notify Korea with a detailed list of to-be-relocated units in mid-July. Through negotiations, he would try to minimize the effects of the USFK relocation on Koreas security and military strength, Cho said.
The Defense Ministry reported to the National Assembly that in order to ease military tensions between the two Koreas, the ministry would hold regular meetings between the generals of the two Koreas and promote the second round of talks between the two Koreas' defense ministers.

Ping!
Does this mean that if Hawaii goes for Kerry it will go to north Korea if they decide to take it?
Where is NK getting the resources for these missiles while millions of people in that country are starving to death??
Isn't that special! The last 2 pegs of the Axis of Evil are going full bore right now.
They launch one of those things and within a few minutes North Korea will feel the wrath of a large Trident II strike.
"40 Chonma-class tanks"
I wonder what design this tank is based on? Chinese or Russian?
Another great deal struck by slick willy and maddy halfbright. Great foreign policy move. The legacy continues......

Twice! (Too much coffee in mr pointer.)
That's the plan - "We will 'Disarm' for Food"
It's got to be cheaper to feed millions of people than to build a nuclear program and an intercontinental ballistic missile program.
A couple of reactors and a dozen MRBM's wouldnt even feed Pyongyang, imho.
The North Korean government is involved in several profitable industries - nuclear consulting, drug trafficking, and counterfitting.
If just one nut in a NK nuke control point goes nuts...and launches...the US WOULD likely sit there for those precious minutes in a state of shock. I doubt that GW would immedately respond with an attack. But after the smoke had cleared...I could see 30 ICBMs fired at military targets around all of NK. And this is what I would start to worry about. All you need is one nut in a control room...and we'd have to destroy all of the country in response. I can see the UN having a major fit over GW's response. But there is no choice. They would have to be destroyed.
The retaliatory strike should be done when the winds are blowing in the direction of Beijing, I agree.
The actual plan is more like "We will pretend to consider to disarm for food"
And yet we continue to send food aid to prop up the government. Sigh.
Weapons sales.
