As someone who has thousands of books, mostly detective fiction (and practically all of them signed first editions), I can sympathize with Mr. Fusilli. I especially enjoy James Lee Burke, Randy Wayne White, Nevada Barr, James W. Hall, William Kent Krueger, Robert Crais, Michael Connelly, George Pelecanos, Edna Buchanan and Julie Smith.

I don't read many mysteries (not the way my mom does, anyway), but I try to make time for them. Mostly I read classic mysteries, but I also enjoy some more modern fare, such as the Amelia Peabody mysteries by Elizabeth Peters.
