IMHO the only reason this past year has been bad for W is because of a concerted effort by the liberal media to destroy his Presidency. From all behind the scenes reports, things are actually going well in Iraq, but the media refuses to report that. The economy is growing as are jobs, but they refuse to admit that too. They attack him and Cheney constantly, refuse to show his speeches, all the while playing up the supposed brilliance of Kerry and company.

I don't understand why Kerry made his VP pick before the convention. This has taken ALL mystery out of the convention plus it is Kerry's last card for making any kind of suprize news. The Networks were already talking about limiting their coverage to the Acceptance speeches and this gives them their best rationale for doing so. Yes Kerry may get a bump with this announcement but that may mean NO bounce at all for his convention.
He also has to contend with being limited to federal dollars all the way through the GOP convention while GW has a full month of unlimited funds until after his. Bush also has the advantage of an incumbent in making news any time he wants. Kerry may be almost broke by the time Bush has to even spend a penny of his Federal dollars This early pick seems to be a sign of panic just to be able to get some kind of bounce but he is really spending a lot of capital for a very brief advantage. It seems to me that Kerry will have to rely on his VP bounce to carry him all the way to the end of the GOP convention and then hope for something positive in the debates.

I agree with you.
The media and the Dems are in lockstep.
They are also wringing their hands at their loss of control over "WE THE PEOPLE".
Their befuddlement will continue.
They will become more desperate as they drift into the downward spiral of their own self-loathing.
Why stop them? It will be fun to watch.

IMO you're absolutely right!
