16 year olds or ten year olds with guns that killed might be jailed, I can see that.

Last time I saw a claim like this, it was Gitmo, and the "children" turned out to be 16 year old terrorists. Excuse me if I'm skeptical of this report.

I saw at least one story where an American soldier refrained from shooting back at a 10-year-old who shot at him.

This is the same kind of statistic we see from the handgun controllers, where "children" include 18-year-old gang members and drug peddlers.

The ICRC is again trying to make trouble for us while turning a blind eye toward regimes that brush them off. Another reason why I refuse to contribute to an organization that is 75% tail.

Sigh....I become more and more convinced that Bush's biggest mistake was not simply leveling the entire nation of Iraq into one flat, possibly glowing, pancake. The media couldn't possibly bitch more than they are currently and, in fact, there would be less left standing for them to air pictures of.

Prison is no place for a child.

Shoot them in the street.

I suspect that many of these are the same type of "children" that the Brady Bunch and MMM like to cite in weapons statistics; gangsta "yutes" engaged in nothing good.

In Mogadishu they had pre-teen children carrying automatic weapons. I suspect it is the same here.

If they are mature enough to murder our soldiers, they are mature enough to be detained in a prison.

"In Mogadishu they had pre-teen children carrying automatic weapons."

Seems that there were stories from Mogudishu about some UN troops who tortured some children. These were serious torture stories including burning the Somali kids over a fire. I believe the soldiers involved were Belgian and Canadian. It probably went a long way toward creating the situation that got our guys killed there.

Paging ICRC.....Paging ICRC.....your services are required in Sudan. Please drop what you are doing and report for duty.

But it does not negate the need to withhold children who are taught to kill our military.

I don't think there's any juvenile detention centers or DCF over there.

I agree. These people teach their childrent to shoot at our soldiers then act as if they were innocent. Africa is especially bad about the child soldier issue.

Maybe the Red Cross would prefer the "children" be left in the streets to be fired upon, rather than caught and stopped.

According to the report, they're calling 16-year-olds caught fighting our forces "children". Are you kidding me? Those aren't "children". They're fighters. Many of our soldiers aren't much older than that.

16 and 17 year old AK-47 wielding and Allah praising "children," I suspect.
