Gephardt would certainly maintain the dem VP gravitas and stature standards set by PanderAl Gore. Heheheh...
Gephardt is the safer choice. And whatever his shortcomings, at least he's an adult, unlike the Clinton-Gore manchild duo.
Edwards would help close the "charisma gap", though.

That's the problem with Johnny Edwards. He would be likely to overshadow sKerry, and he doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut.
