Considering what this crowd has come up with so far, their efforts do not worry me in particular. I fear they might not even be entertaining. The big question, is: Can they control their blind hatred of Bush and their condescension toward us little people sufficiently so as to convince us rather than insult us. From what I have learned in studying counterinsurgency the art of (successful) propaganda is very different from that of drama and comedy. To begin with, you have to respect your target audience. Director John Ford, for instance, was a master of both (the "Why We Fight" series in WWII--he notably used the baddies OWN blustering propaganda footage to hang them), Al Franken and Margret Cho, however, are absolutely cringe-inducing when they wax political. In such interviews as I have seen, Rob Reiner seems to see himself as a benign philosopher-king and Aaron Sorkin is just plain prickly. I look forward to being TOLD who I'm gonna vote for.
Ed Assner and Danny (Fidel) Glover. Peas in a pod...
Wow, glad to see that CFR is keeping the big money out of politics.
The celebrities who are coming out against Bush are guaranteeing that I will NEVER purchase any products they advertise, and I will NEVER attend any films, music, or other entertainment in which they are featured.
Outa my country you filthy, communist America hating meathead.
