Actually, as a Radioman for then Lt. Col. HAL G. MOORE in Vietnam, I was blessed to have him post some of my Vietnam Photos on his and JOE GALLOWAY's very popular...

'We Were Soldiers Once and Young'

...website.

They both guested over the Weekend on 'The Judicial Watch Report' Radio Show:

I have and would be happy to send you copies of Office Space, U571, Finding Nemo, Three Kings, and Hunt for Red October. Also, would you like Seasons 5 and 6 of the TV series Stargate SG-1 (both 5-disk sets) and some other movies and TV shows?

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!

I'm a Stargate SG-1 fan, and I've been wanting to send it...!

I'm hoping to get the first 3 seasons before I mail yours, but I'm working on a donor for seasons 1 & 2.

I'll FReepmail you directly.

Do you know OhioWfan or Kayak?

Ohio's boy got back from Iraq a couple months ago. She will be able to empathize with you in all ways, both pride and fear and faith and simply missing them around the house.

Kayak lists the troops who need prayers almost every day on the Dose.

Stay in touch, please.

For everyone's information, 2Jedismom was the hardest working care package sender to our chaplain contacts at Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo in 2001 and early 2002.

But sis, the lessons I learned from you are what helped me send the 100+ care packages to Kandahar Afghanistan last year for the Hobbit Hole! The Hobbit Hole sent me literally thousands of dollars and never even knew the chaplain's name until he wrote them back.

Then, after our Afghanistan contact came home, I took the lessons I learned from you and passed then on to our new coordinator who had a son-in-law in Iraq...we are still sending to that platoon, even though the SIL is home.

And that's not all! I've trained countless freepers who have freepmailed me...they have a servicemember's address (cousin, nephew, niece), but don't know how to send a package!

Then, I've trained my parents and several of their friends!

The post office where I used to send to was always so tickled to see me coming and were so helpful that I baked them a batch of cookies!

I still send packages...to a friend in Afghanistan. About once a month. My current post office man has two sons serving and he always takes the time to talk to me about them.

I intend to get you something eventually and also continue helping out the Hobbit Hole.

This sounds like it's all about me, but really...it's all about you. Your influence back when we did the Kosovo care packages has had a ripple effect!

That is wonderful to hear.

I was feeling discouraged once about my doctoring, and went to report for jury duty locally, not selected--but while in this not so large room I looked around and realized there were 3 people there whose lives I'd saved by timely or tricky diagnoses. It was very uplifting and encouraging, because ocassionally some escape your efforts, and you feel so bad about it, it overshadows all the good you forgot you'd done.

Anybody here who wants training to go independent, just talk to the Jedis' mom.

So how grown up are those boys now?

Matthew is 8 now...starting 5th grade in August via satellite...Joshua is 5 and will be starting kindergarten.

They are happy boys and love playing in the backyard with their chickens or shooting imaginary terrorist with waterguns while crouching in the tomatoes!

Thanks for asking...they are my pride and joy.

Hey, if you ever get tired of them, just put them in a care package and mail them to me!

Did anyone in the service ever write to them?

No!! I mean, other than what they included to my entire family. The Hobbit Hole's chaplain sent them 82nd Airborne tee-shirts. He also sent my family a flag that was flown at Kandahar airfield. Here is Joshua in preschool, showing the flag, the accompanying certificate, and wearing the tee-shirt for show and tell...

I should get Matthew to write them a letter, huh?

Got most of the special movie requests covered except for

Chocolat and Sea of Love

Also, the only horror film I like is Sixth Sense. Anybody got that or another really good horror flick? The commander evidentally likes horror flicks.

Westerns we have only so far Open Range (Costner), Rio Bravo (John Wayne), and a sort of Western Last of the Dogmen in the works for Bagram. Any Western fans got a good film they can send or suggestion they can make?

Cheers!

Was it you two who started the Kosovo packages just before Christmas in, was it '99? My son and I so enjoyed putting together a package then. I need to get off line and get busy with it!!

Our Kosovo care package extravaganza began in summer of 2001. 2jedismom was one of the first and most enthusiastic to join the effort.

Here's a link to an early thread.
