The only thing that appears to exceed Michael Moore's contempt for President Bush is his absolute distain for us, the American people.
In making such a dishonest piece of propaganda masquerading as a "documentary," Moore had to make a few very unpleasant assumptions about his audience.
First, he must be convinced that the American people are so ignorant that we will accept whatever we are told as gospel. As if we're a country of folks who believe, "Hey, if it's in writin' (or on the ole' big screen) it must be true."

Good post. In defense of Moore's description of Americans as ignorant, greedy, deluded, stupid, etc, I would submit that it is a certainty that his friends and acquaintances, that is, those people that he hangs out with, are almost universally liberals. If that's all the people anyone had regular contact with, how else would they be decribed?
Michael Moore and liberals are a classic example of the P.T. Barnum principle of, "there's a sucker born every minute." He's fleecing liberals like there's no tomorrow. And, to be sure, he knows his audience. They're liberals. They'll believe anything, anytime, anyway as long as it requires no thought, no logic, and they don't have to give up their sanctimony and self- righteousness.

You're absolutely correct. Moore is a marketing genius. He made a movie that was directly targeted to the 10 to 20 percent of Americans that would crawl over broken glass to vote a dog into the presidency before they would cast a vote for Bush. He knows they are ill-informed, he knows they are easily lead by emotionalism and propaganda.
Moore is a Marxist scum bag and traitor, but he's dam good at marketing. Lenin or Stalin would have been begging him to work for them.
