A prominent member of Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign is still telling audiences that President Bush is "a draft dodger" because he served in the National Guard instead of joining the Army during the early 1970's.
"John Kerry was a warrior. George Bush was a draft dodger," Kerry booster Del Sandusky told a Florida audience on Thursday, in quotes picked up by the Bradenton Herald. Sandusky served aboard Kerry's swift boat in Vietnam and appears prominently in his campaign commercials.
In February, Kerry himself was roundly criticized for equating National Guard service with dodging the draft, when he told Fox News, "I've never made any judgments about any choice somebody made about avoiding the draft, about going to Canada, about going to jail, about being a conscientious objector, or going into the National Guard. These are choices people make." Kerry later said he didn't mean the statement as a slight to those who served in the Guard.
In the same speech yesterday, Sandusky criticized Bush for "mishandling" the war in Iraq, saying, "There are a lot of similarities to Vietnam. A lot of our kids are dying over there on the other side of the world."
Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-NJ, told the same rally that it was wrong to criticize Kerry for his anti-war activities after returning from Vietnam, saying it was "a cardinal sin to paint John Kerry as soft on defense or unpatriotic."
A CBS poll in May showed President Bush with a 13-point lead among veterans.
Especially among voters in the Guard!
The Kerry campaign defames every single person who ever served in the National Guard, including those in Iraq as we speak.
"Hey, Senator Kerry, shoot any wounded, helpless men in the back recently?"
And we're still calling Kerry a(n) __________(fill in the blank).
Exactly
Um...let's check the scoreboard, shall we? Vietnam - 58,000 Americans killed, fell to Communism. Iraq - Under 1,000 Americans killed, now sovereign and will hold free elections in 6 months. I fail to see any similarities whatsoever.
If their vote is allowed to count!!!
And Kerry is a TRAITOR
Kerry = Illogical
So was Kerry drafted or did he volunteer? I suppose technically anyone that volunteered DID dodge the draft.
This is why Little Dickie G. has no shot at VEEP under Kerry... He served in the National Guard, too...
I believe he was drafted. He had asked his draftboard in 1968? to let him study in Paris for a year so he could avoid having to go to Viet Nam. After the draftboard denied him his request he enlisted in the Navy and the rest is history sts
Likewise HRC was married to a draft-dodger. Does that make her inelligible?

Kerry people show their tremendous stupidity here. Plus, the more the issue gets raised, the more the veterans are reminded of Kerry's anti-war statements and meeting with Hanoi Jane and the North Vietnamese before the war was over, which was an act of treason.
Now we have another team of LIARS doing their best to undermine George Bush.
Cardinal Sin ? Did he really say this? Those crazed Leninites will do and say anything to get what they want. They defend their accusations with "free to question and say what we wish" but never question them.
