FBI urges vigilance for July 4

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

More Companies Eyed in Black Market Nukes

VIENNA, Austria (AP)--An investigation of the black market supplying nations seeking nuclear arms has spread to more than 20 firms--some of them North American--the chief of the U.N. atomic agency told The Associated Press Friday. A senior diplomat identified one of the firms as U.S. based.

The diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, also said Syria and Saudi Arabia were being investigated as possible buyer nations, beyond Iraq, Iran, Libya and North Korea--the countries known to have been in contact with Pakistani scientist A.Q. Khan and members of his procurement network

I'm just posting it because it seemed directly related to what we are all concerned about.

I really hesitated to post this, because it cannot be confirmed or denied, but it sounded odd...

I was visiting my mom tonight and she said that a good friend of hers at work told her the following:
She has a brother who works at the pentagon. He came to his sister and told her he was put on alert (my mom didnt ask what he does there) and he told his sister that she should stock up on canned food and water. He was not supposed to tell anyone, and made his sister say she wouldnt tell anyone and of course she proceeds to tell my mom.

I know, please dont jump all over me for posting this, I figured even if it wasnt true it cant hurt to hear it.

All I know is that the woman must have seemed serious enough, because my mom never pays any attention to this sort of thing and she made a stop at the store on the way home and got about 2 weeks worth of canned food and water and filled out a mail order form for 3 more months worth of medicine for my grandmother.

I hope you are not continuing with your attacks by the time I get caught up on TM. It is really starting to tick me off. There are many different kinds of people here. Each has there own thing to contibute and as long as it is not way off topic then that is ok. None of us are perfect, but we learn to understand each other. And we are all adults who are quite capable of determining for ourselves the seriousness of a post. We can't make an absoulutely perfect set of guidelines...And I don't think we want to....because there is no such thing. We have had our hard times, and we work through it. I don't know how long you have been reading TM, but I do know that you have no right to sign up today and start right in critisizing us. So either join us...and except us....or else please go away.

If these people make another strike,Islam in America will not be an issue.Self defense is an instinct.not an option.They may be stupid enough and primitive enough to set this up ,but if they are,it is a self destruct.
