FBI urges vigilance for July 4

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A constant stream of intelligence indicating that al Qaeda wants to strike the United States this summer or fall has led federal officials to urge increased vigilance during the Independence Day weekend, but there is no specific threat of an attack timed to the holiday.

I need to dig on their positions regarding Israel. If it's what I'm thinking, it may be in relation to the current exercises that are supposedly in preparation for an attack on Israel, or their opposition to an attack. Or....

Here's the rub though...We don't know about the identical empty cases that weren't found. Somewhere, each time this was done there probably were suitcases undiscovered and those are the danger zones.

I wonder if the K-9 units can sniff out these empty ones just by the materials they are made from?

Well said, although I'd point out that it's easier to see the screams as over reacting when you have not been on the rollercoaster, but waiting in line.


There are those here who think that our accuracy rate is "dismal". I'm going to take an optimistic view and state that attacks didn't happen on occasion because we were RIGHT, and they were stopped in time. To my mind that would be success.

It would be impractical for a country to go to war without a functional cabinet UNLESS the military took things over completely. I've heard nothing about this happing there yet.
