It's okay to use the taxpayers' money to buy votes, but it's criminal to use your own.

The DemocRATS are so desperate to get President Bush out of office, it's hard to tell what they will stoop to. Being desperate brings out the evil in people.
I highly recommend for any Conservative that works the polls this November to keep a sharp eye out for any thing that doesn't seem on the up and up.
And by God, they BETTER count the military absentee votes! This has been in my crawl since last election.

You may have to make the collar yourself -- or have a federal marshal do so. Most police departments will not enforce federal laws -- particularly when doing so is not in the best interest of the police union.

I don't know, they just busted a guy for jamming the phone line of an escort service to the polls by repeated fast-dialing for a long enough period to prevent potential voters from getting through to arrange a ride.
One would think that a free ride to the polls would represent an expenditure in lieu of cabfare, but, the law is, itself, driven by politics.

Well, you probably remember in 2000 they actually had pictures and proof of Dim operatives giving people in Madison, Wisconsin money and cigarettes to go in the polling place and vote for Gore. Did anything ever come of it? Nah. What's some little 24 year old patrolman gonna do if you call him out to the polling place with this type of complaint?
Don't get me wrong. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'd throw a Southeast Texas fit and make a scene. Probably to no avail, however.

I think the key to the election is to increase the turnout in the rural areas. We need to make legal registration highly accessable and really promote the election in small towns. The Rats will get their turnout in the inner cities(even keeping polls open late).
It would be interesting to analyze the voting percentages and registration/election practices between the 2 areas.

I live in SC; if GWB doesn't carry this state by 10 points,
regardless of edwards on the ticket or not, then there is
something very fishy in denmark.

"18 USCS § 597 (2004)" What is the constitutional jurisdiction for this law to be enforced within the boundaries of a sovereign state?
There are only two constitutionaly enumerated methods of federal jurisdiction within a state:
Powers of Congress
Article I, Section 8, Cl 3, the "commerce clause."
Article I, Section 8, Cl 17 state property owned by our federal government with a state's consent.
Obviously, the act of offering an individual money, lunch, or a beer, who maybe standing on a city street corner or holed up in a tavern, to vote for a specfic candiate, does not meet the jurisdictional requirements of the constitution for this law to be enforced.
Why would a presumed "conservative" at a site know as "FreeRepublic" advocate the unconstitutional enforcement of federal law when the term "conservative" implies the desire to "conserve?"
In this case "conserve" the tenants and covenants of the constitution.
Advocating the enforcement of unconstitutional federal laws is what a Democrat/liberal is known to do.

So, let's set 'em up. Dress like a street person, hang out where the offer is being made, hidden tape recorder or video cell phone running, then make your citizen's arrest.
If you have someone else taping it, make sure they are concealed until the crime has been documented.
Unfortunately, I can't "put my money where my mouth is" because I'll be tied up all day as a district official at my assigned polling place.

I, too anticipate that cops would do nothing, even if you showed them video of a Democrat gleefully stuffing a ballot box. Still, they should be reported to and take down the name of the officer who refuses to help.
One big difference in this election however is Fox News. There was no local Fox News last big election and this year there is one in Tucson and Phoenix. (I don't know about other cities.) They might be willing to do a story if you can spot the operation and get them there in time.
I wonder what would happen here in Tucson if you had a Border Patrol vehicle parked directly in front of every polling place during the vote?
