Frances everlasting love for the PLO July 2nd, 2004
In a deliberate snub, French Foreign Minister Barnier decided to visit Palestinian Authority head Yasser Arafat, rather than Israeli Prime Minister Sharon, on his visit to the region. We revealed this intention to readers earlier. Now we have an account of the actual meeting with the Nobel Prize-winning terror master.
Mr Barnier explained that it was important for France to reaffirm strongly the indispensable role of Chairman Arafat in that region of the world. He brought a message of sincere friendship and high esteem from President Chirac to Arafat. He also conveyed a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people in these very difficult times, mainly caused by the Israelis. These are not only words but also concrete actions such as the cooperation agreement between France and the PA.
Then he went on to deliver a message of truth to Arafat telling him: Time is of the essence and if nothing is done, France will soon be all alone as the only country supporting you.
Barnier also complained bitterly about the fate reserved to Arafat by Israel. For him, it is a disgrace for Arafat, for his rank as the legitimately elected President, and for his people. He demanded that Arafats isolation in his Headquarters be terminated.
If that were not enough, Chirac declared in Istanbul during the NATO summit that Arafat is the only legitimate representative of the Palestinians and that no agreement can be signed without him.
Frances government shows once again where its priorities lie: helping Muslim rogue dictators blindly until the end. So after Saddam Hussein, they are going to stick with Arafat whatever happens, even after it has been widely proven that Arafat remains one of the major masters of terror in the world.
Last but not least, in yesterdays Le Monde op-ed page, a group of influential French politicians and intellectuals signed a declaration of solidarity with the PLOs representative in France, Leila Shahid. Her last name means martyr in Arabic, possibly an ironic touch. In this text they state,
"The Israeli government annexes and chokes the occupied territories, multiplies war crimes and tries to destroy the elected Palestinian Authority.
As usual, whatever the circumstances and the hard facts, France goes to great lengths to defend the PLO and Arafat. In such an environment of fueling hatred of Israel, it is not surprising that young French Muslims keep on physically attacking French Jews in one of the largest waves of anti-Semitism since Hitlers day.

How clueless can one be?
ELO was a great group from the 70's. That Jeff Lynne was a genius.

ROTFLMAO
I'm pretty sure Sharon didn't mind. He saved the fumigation expenses. Seriesly.
(Endless drum solo. Followed by weird keyboard/dulcimer sounds.)
Ve hate Sharon!
France needs to be the next place we work on regime change.
I remember ELO. I don't get the connection: ELO /PLO?
The corruption is so ingrained, good luck!
The tenacity Chirac shows in clinging to Arafat is telling: It reminds me of Democrats' unswerving support of abortion on demand until first-breath. I think Chirac's keeping a sizable voting bloc (Islamic) nailed down the same way.
Seeing as how there's some parliamentary elections over the corner, that one shouldn't be much trouble.
Personally, I think that we need to deal with Syria.
Remember, "Bubba" had a chance to effect an internal military coup against the reprehensible Assad clan, and totally blew the opportunity.
If there's any one who is to blame for the noxious political system they have over there, it is Clinton and his senescent, lapdog Secretary of State Warren Christopher.
Ptouey!
=========== French missiles FIRST given to Iraq to be USED Against US and American and Coalition Heroes =========
French missiles found by the Poles, and to protect France, blown up.
Froggies said they did not say "2003". LOL. Decide for yourself.
Iraqi missiles given to, and now located in, Syria:
Arafat is in such a pathetic position, only the French could find some redeeming qualities in that perverted mess of a being. Doesn't anyone remember rumours of bestiality?
Time to rewatch the film "Au Revoir les Enfants" about how the Nazis rounded up French Jews, including several that had been hiding in a boy's school under the protection of the Church.
No connection I just can't read well.
Where've you been lately? I haven't seen your posts for a long time.
I remember clearly the missile story, but I don't know who Michel Bernier is?
Also, you've got mail (soon)
It is at all levels.
