"WASHINGTON (AFP) - Several members of the House of Representatives have requested the United Nations (news - web sites) to send observers to monitor the November 2 US presidential election to avoid a contentious vote like in 2000, when the outcome was decided by Florida.
Recalling the long, drawn out process in the southern state, nine lawmakers, including four blacks and one Hispanic, sent a letter Thursday to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan (news - web sites) asking that the international body "ensure free and fair elections in America," according to a statement issued by Florida representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, who spearheaded the effort..."

Davis is a probably member of Socialist Workers Party too.
Good question. The article says "nine lawmakers," yet Congressman Eddie Bernice Johnson is the only one named in that article.
Some how I suspect, they(the other 8) may be members of DSA's "Progressive Caucas".
That's a good question and I'm looking for the answer. Interesting that there were 9 involved and only one named. There's nothing about this on Congressman Johnson's website either.

US officials: We need UN election monitors
Several members of the US House of Representatives have requested the United Nations send observers to monitor the 2 November US presidential election. ...
More kissing up to the UN by Democraps, led by flipflop. And the liberals are buying it!
"...In Nigeria, 96 UN Volunteers verified the electoral and voting process on the election days in April 2003. In partnership with UNDP and the European Union (EU), they worked with the local electoral and civil administration..."
"...In Kenya, national UN Volunteers were placed in each of the 177 constituencies throughout the country to support the presidential and general elections on 27 December 2002..."
"...In Madagascar, UN Volunteers worked with UNDP to support the National Electoral Commission (NEC) before the 15 December 2002 elections..."
"...In Sierra Leone, between January and May 2002, UNV district electoral officers worked with UNDPA to monitor the technical aspects of the electoral process..."
"...In East Timor (now Timor Leste), UN Volunteers supported the governance and election processes leading to independence on 20 May 2002..."
"...In Comoros, UN Volunteers helped restore constitutional order and good governance by assisting with the referendum held on 23 December 2001 and the presidential election in 2002..."
"...UN Volunteers also shared their knowledge and expertise with electoral authorities in Bangladesh, Fiji and São Tomé and Príncipe..."
Yep. A proud moment for Congressman Johnson.
The bipartisan commission, is protecting "black voters' and in poor counties".
Is the author referring to Mexican voters in the US?
When was the last time we did NOT have free and fair elections????
She makes it sound like we don't have any system of voting at all!
I know you have to have seen some of my posts regarding the Ultimate Nonsense(U.N.). I have no love for them at all. It was a good idea at the time of it's inception, but now is a tool to spread socialism with france(not capitolised on purpose), leading the way.
After Resolution 1441, they have not been much help until the 15-0 vote recently. They were very mixed results during the Cold War also. Seems like the only time it almost worked was the Korean Conflict. Since U.S. and U.N.
Forces were involved(majority U.S. there as well).
I watched the events post Res.1441 to now with very high disdain for the U.N.. The big problem there is more countries with terrorists in them in the U.N. than not, leading to severe difficulties getting any unanimity in anything. And there are not many Free Democratic nations out there at all. Most are still dictatorships unfortunately.
No I have no love for the U.N..

Sounds like if the "hanging Chads recount scheme" does not work, The Socialists U.N. workers get to taint the election process.
Next the demoCommiecRATS will say the U.N. should run the U.S. instead of the U.S. running the U.S..
Those other eight house members need to be exposed.
