Today in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, President Bush attended the swearing in ceremony of the new representative of the United States to the United Nations, Senator John Danforth. Later in the East Room of the White House, he addressed those attending a reception commemorating the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Civil Rights bill into law in 1964.
Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!

Hi there, mtnchickee. :o) Nice to see you 'round these parts.
About 'that film'...it's not that the Army wants to show it...it's just that they show the troops what's currently playing in the stateside top slot. Unfortunate in this case. :o/
Amazingly, the critics are hammering Moore -- I just wish there weren't so many 'useful idiots' interested in viewing the movie, particularly among the 18-29 demographic (fortunately, this demographic is the LEAST likely to vote!!!!)
BTW: Did you read Christopher Hitchens review of F911 -- CLASSIC!
Excerpt:
To describe this film as dishonest and demagogic would almost be to promote those terms to the level of respectability. To describe this film as a piece of crap would be to run the risk of a discourse that would never again rise above the excremental. To describe it as an exercise in facile crowd-pleasing would be too obvious. Fahrenheit 9/11 is a sinister exercise in moral frivolity, crudely disguised as an exercise in seriousness. It is also a spectacle of abject political cowardice masking itself as a demonstration of "dissenting" bravery.

He kinda skip-de-loo'd over Ronnie though.
You go, lady!
Sigh. I wish I lived in a pubbie state. Even a state with some blushes of it somewhere. It's verrry lonely out here ideologically. My best friend works with a bunch of people who still fawn over blubba. It ain't purdy.
Your post at 98 makes me wonder if the box office draw is for the rebels among us, those who want to hear anything that smashes and trashes the hard-working men and women in this country who are keeping their sorry heinies safe.
I really really like that approach. Good for you.
WHICH wine country? Surely you don't mean your leaving your home state to travel to the Magnificent NW with all her wineries?
You gonna get the old boy snockered and have your ... EDIT time. hehe
So, how many years are y'all celebrating?
*** that Saddam sounded exactly like a Democrat??***
I thought the exact same thing this morning when I heard them translate what he said.
Thanks for the pics tonight, Ohio, especially the Most Adorable Picture of the Most Adorable First Couple of All Time. :-)
You know how much I love Ronald Reagan, and how much I respect him, but Ronald Reagan came into office with a mandate, and saw very little success until late 1983. GWB came into office under a cloud of controversy and has led this country like few others. I personally liked Reagan much more, but I can't ignore the achievements of this President. So if GWB continues to lead the way he has and is able to pull off a landslide in '04, he will have a mandate and all I can say is LOOKOUT
Hi Mystery!
Hope you're having a good (if busy) week! :-)
