As I said before, if it were truly a war against Islam, then what about the Muslims that are not fighting, and do not support terrorism? I suppose it's just like those that are Christians in name only...these are Muslims in name only...this explanation is used quite a bit on FR, when things cannot be explained.
True, except I don't think McVeigh was a Muslim.
So they are infidels...they are still Muslims...just as there are many different Christians, Jews, etc. I believe,
we are fighting individuals, not a religion.
Sorry, but it is a religious war. A rabid brand of islam has declared war on all non-mohammedans, and even against some fellow mohammedans if the need suits the agenda. Islam's problem is it doesn't loudly and clearly denounce this cancer in its midst, and thus they serve as enablers and accomplices and supporters, for their silence and inaction encourages the evildoers.
True.
Have you read the Koran and the other teachings of Islam?
Have you read the Koran and the other teachings of Islam?
So what are those millions that follow the tenets of Islam, but are not terrorists? I bet they think they are Muslims...but they can't be according to your interpretation?
Correct, and there is the occasional ecoterrorist, but they are so rare that in general, when a terrorist act takes place, one can safely assume it was done in the name of Allah.
I'll keep repeating: Have you read the Koran?
It seems that if they are fighting within the Islamic community itself, it's more a case of interpretation, than a religious war . I would think, that if it were truly a religious war, then it would encompass all Muslims...not some individuals that disagree amongst themselves.
Only enough to know that it, like other writings, is subject to interpretation, especially after so any years since it's original writing.
Try taking a look at the fighting in Africa. Who are the aggressors? Who are the aggessors in Chechnya? In Malaysia? In Thailand? In the Phillipines?
It is times like this that I miss my days in Bancroft most...
When it comes to these kinds of acts of violence, I don't like to assume anything of anyone.
Interesting article!
I will agree that it is a very large faction, but there still are more non-terrorist Muslims in the world. I say again, that I believe one of the weapons used by these people, is religious zealotry.
I'm gone for today, will be back tomorrow.
If only 1/2 of 1% of all the Muslims in the world are terrorists -- how many terrorists would that be?
So keep right on making sure that you tear apart Grandma's walker and ignore an young Arab male right behind her. After all, we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings with profiling. Now, if only we could get the terrorists (who will hereinafter be referred to as generic so as not to link them to any specific religion) to play fair with us....
