Funny, the things leftists say when they're in a leftist town surrounded by fellow travelers.
Hillary Clinton, erstwhile first lady, current U.S. senator representing New York and probable future presidential candidate, cut loose in San Francisco Monday night at a fund-raiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.
"Many of you are well enough off that ... the (Bush) tax cuts may have helped you," Mrs. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to have to cut that short and not give it to you."
Should Democrats win the White House and gain control of Congress, "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good," she said.

GIVE it to us? It's OUR money, bwitch.
"In a higher phase of Communist society, when the enslaving subordination of individuals in the division of labour has disappeared, and with it also the antagonism between mental and physical labour; when labour has become not only a means of living, but itself the first necessity of life; when, along with the allround development of individuals, the productive forces too have grown, and all the springs of social wealth are flowing more freely - it is only at that stage that it will be possible to pass completely beyond the narrow horizon of bourgeois rights, and for society to inscribe on its banners: from each according to his ability; to each according to his needs!" - Vladimir Illyich Lenin, "State and Revolution", 1918
"To organize the whole economy on the lines of the postal service so that technicians, foremen and accountants, as well as all officials, shall receive salaries no higher than workers' wages, all under the leadership of the armed proletariat, that is our immediate aim." -Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, "The State and Revolution" 1918
Good article.
It actually sounds like something the OLD Pat Buchanan might have written.
<<<"Many of you are well enough off that ... the (Bush) tax cuts may have helped you," Mrs. Clinton said. "We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to have to cut that short and not give it to you.">>
Meaning____Most of you arent on welfare so that couple of bucks Bush allowed you to keep? Well. If we get back in power , were going to take it, and a lot more. 900 Billion more just for health care.
By the way, keep in mind that if you're a nurse, or a police officer, YOU qualify for mega-rich status with the Dems, and should be punished accordingly. It's true - look at some of their numbers for 'the rich'.
Thank God America can produce its own Marxist totalitarian demagogues and doesn't have to depend on imports produced in Third World sweatshops!
Here's the bumper sticker: "We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good." And who knows what's better for us than Big Sister?
IIRC, Fritz Mondale, surveying the adoring crowd at the 1984 Democrat Convention, said "We're gonna tax the s**t outta them" to Ted Kennedy.
bump for later reading
Look at John French Kerry's list of convention speakers...
He'll be toast by the end of the convention. 10-1 they go wild-eyed.
I heard about that. Compare it to you tagline, and you get the perfect distinction between the two men.
I'd run ads that show them praising Michael Moore... and then have the words of folks slamming Moore's lies.
:)
Show Moore claiming that Bush sent the bin Ladens home, and praising Richard Clarke...
...and then show the clip of Richard Clarke saying that it was his call.
Many of these addle-brained eggheads won't admit that America is free of the King of England. Of course they think the money belongs to the gov't, and the gov't we have is temporary and will revert to the proper state. It's just a matter of time for them--monarchy or communism. In England the money actually belongs to the King; under Communism it is a little less certain since the 'State shall Wither Away.'
I'm taxed to the point of radical mastectomy as it is!!
BTTT
Poverty rate in US is about 12%. NOT 25%. Average income is about $42K. BUT 'poor' people in US are given money and freebies to such an extent that they would be considered middle-class in most countries.
Although I've seen Hillary's quote in the past several days, one thing I haven't heard is, what was the reaction of the audience when she said this? Anyone know? Were there murmurs, rumblings, general discomfort? Or, was there applause?
