KERRY ENDORSED BY NATIONAL FARMERS UNION PAC
U.S. Newswire ^ | 7/1/04

WASHINGTON, July 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The National Farmers Union PAC (NATFARMPAC) today endorsed John Kerry for President in a letter from Chairman David Frederickson. After three and a half years of an administration that takes rural America for granted, the organization is supporting Kerry for his commitment to addressing the serious challenges facing rural communities.

The full text of the letter is below:

"Dear Senator Kerry:

On behalf of the National Farmers Union Political Action Committee (NATFARMPAC), I am pleased to inform you that it has voted to endorse your candidacy for President of the United States.

As you are well aware, family farmers and ranchers across America face serious challenges as do our rural communities. These issues include the impacts of unfair trade and globalization, concentration of market power among a few multinational corporations, inadequate market returns to independent producers, the effects of natural disasters and the lack of investment to improve the infrastructure and enhance the quality of life in rural America.

In order to address these important concerns, we believe it is important to have leadership in our Nation's highest office that is not only aware of the issues but will establish the restoration of rural America as a priority within a new administration.

Our committee believes your candidacy and election provide the best opportunity to create the partnerships between government and its citizens necessary to achieve success in dealing with these challenges and creating new economic and social opportunities for all of rural America.

Congratulations on this endorsement. We look forward to working with you throughout the remaining months of your campaign and as our next President.

Sincerely,

David J. Frederickson, Chairman"

None of these farmers and ranchers share the same values as Kerry, especially when it comes to marraige.

I have stuck up for farmers when I have heard them called dumb. After this, Hmmmm? What Kerry knows about farming could get in his eye and would not cause him to blink. I suppose the farmers think he will give them another big hand out.

My bet is this group is a bunch a left leaning farmers. Farmers and Ranchers in this part of the country are very Republican, if not more Republican than most Republicans.

I think you may be right. The Rats are always good for a handout to farmers. That is why most of them wear those ball caps with the bill folded. Makes it easier to stick their head in the mail box looking for a guvmint check.

Whenever I see a Union endorsing Kerry or any Democrat its usually the leader of the Union and not every single union worker. I know that the Leaders don't speak for every single union member.

Got that right about the Farmers Union -- My Grandfather back in the 30's became a rock-ribbed Republican because of this group and FDR! He was a family farmer and that farm is still in our family. He was opposed to being paid not to grow something or having the Feds come around and plow under crops if you planted too much. All policies of the RATs and endorsed by the Farmers Union.

He raised five Republican children -- my Mom and my one Uncle being the most conservative and most Republican. My Uncle was involved in Ohio Party politics until he died and my Mom is still turning over magazines with pictures of Bill Clinton on them so she doesn't have to look at him when she walks in a room. She cancelled the Dayton Daily News because it was so liberal.

To put it bluntly -- when you see a Farmers Union sign you can almost bet they are DemocRATs.

Absolutely!

When I moved to rural Wisconsin, I heard for the first time the hatred farmers still harbored for being told to destroy hogs so the price would rise.

Today, after years when farmers did support Democrats, I am hearing farmers say to me and to others they are voting for W.

It helps that crop prices are high and we finally had rain after 3 years of drought.

Note that W has rallies w/8k+ people, but Kerry has to go to selected farms so he has a reason to explain the lower turnout. We manned ticket tables for a week before W's rally in May and all the Dems are doing is publicizing a phone number where they can get tickets. We held the rally on public property and had to deal w/protesters, while the Kerry *rallies* are on private property and so, they do not. I have also heard Kerry is avoiding La Crosse, since they tried to bill the BC04 campaign for inflated security costs (a Dem-led issue, BTW). He doesn't want to spend money for that. Let's also mention that Al Gore STILL owes La Crosse radio stations for ads from 2000 and will probably never pay up.

Farm subsidies only cover a limited number of crops
and livestock. The other farmers are not dependent on
government handouts.

Corn, beans, peanuts, oranges, sugar beets, wheat, hops, sunflowers, flax, cotton, tobacco and the ground to grow it on. Name a common farm commodity not covered by a marketing order or subsidy, if you can.

Oh yes, Kerry, Moore, Hollywood and the homosexual freaks are going to save rural America!

Don't be so sure. Seeing as how these people are farmers are Democrats, it might not be just other men that they're hankering after, ifyuhknowottimean!
