Turkey, who assumed responsibility within the framework of the decision made by NATO, will train the Iraqi police. The training is expected to be carried out, both inside and outside Iraq.
NATO leaders came to an agreement on training security forces to end violence in Iraq. Secondly, NATO decided to reinforce its international peace force troops in Afghanistan.
The number of NATO troops is to be increased up to 10 thousand in September. Besides these decisions, the NATO leaders decided to delegate power to the European Union in Bosnia in which NATO has been in charge for 9 years.

Chirac isn't going to like this.
On the surface, this seems like a good idea. By the way, are Turks considered Arabs, or something else?
A great ally..Cheers!
In related news, 95% of military respondants in a recent poll suggested French president Jacques Chirac was the person they'd most like to see spend several excitement filled months being trained in a Turkish prison.
Did they get France's permission?
>> By the way, are Turks considered Arabs, or something else?
We're considered something else :))
We're central Asian. Turkish is its own language and is spoken from Turkey to Western China (Eastern Turkestan) with the exception of Persia and southern Afghanistan.
Another brilliant Bush move.
Maybe he'd like pepper spray..
Thats good news. Is Turkey assisting with military training? Officer training, perhaps?
I believe they are, or were, training Afghans. Do you know?
Thanks. I knew the Iranians aren't Arabs, but wasn't sure about Turkey. But I knew there was a Turkish language, so I should have figured it out.

He won't be appreciating any fine meals for quite a while.
I luv it. Hope this burns their butts in Paris.
The Kurds will make great Iraqi cops
Heard nothing about that.
Turkey had a little terrorist problem with fundamentalists themselves a while back. It went away. They were very effective.
Turkey is the only arab middle eastern nation that is semi democratic. If you haven't noticed there have been precious few terrorist from Turkey.
They have come from Saudi, Palestine, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemmen, Lebanon, Packistan, and Afganistan. Says something for the type of government that supports and sustains it.
Uh, we've had more terrorist problems that I can count.
We are, however, not Arabs. Click the link in message 15 for a document.
This is good to see. I envisage an emerging bloc of rational countries, inclusive of Turkey, Jordan, Israel and Iraq. Imagine the possibilities.
Turks are simply that, Turks. Turkish ethnic groups are spread across Asia from Asia Minor over to China and Siberia. They are quite distinct from Arabs and Persians.
