Tiffany Schley won the sympathy of most New Yorkers when officials at the High School of Legal Studies in Bushwick overreacted to her withering Graduation Day criticism of the school and refused to give her a diploma. Mayor Bloomberg rightly called it a "bonehead thing to do."
Finding themselves in an unwelcome media spotlight, the educrats quickly retreated and agreed to give the straight-A student and class valedictorian her certificate.
But Tiffany, who's headed to Smith College on a full scholarship, is undoing much of the good will she's accumulated.
She and her mother apparently aren't content with the diploma she earned.
Flanked by always-incendiary City Councilman Charles Barron and two dozen supporters Monday, they demanded that Chancellor Joel Klein hand over the certificate personally and that he do it at a public ceremony to be held at the predictably inflammatory Rev. Herbert Daughtry's Brooklyn church.

How do you know it's not there already?
Ehhh, before spending approx 5 mins earlier today at the site I had no idea Smith was an all-girl school, and I didn't even know where it was.
What exactly is your role with alumnae stuff? (LOL)
(I hope she realizes I'm only kidding around with her)
I won't mention that other alums include Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan and Margaret Sanger.
I'm on the Board of a local alumnae club and am sort of serving as de facto President.
You should be embarrassed for being from Smith before now.
Why before now?
Because the recipient's grad year is listed and I think the most recent I spotted was '59. And since I've seen you in the CPAC thread pictures I'm going to put you graduating late 80's - early 90's.
That doesn't reflect on you and other Smith gals who have not fallen under the influence of the marxists, pagans, and (I can't believe they have one) the Smith boxing team.
Slamming your own school, no matter how much it stinks, on graduation day is not normal behavior for somebody who just wants to get out and go to college.
Ooh, ooh, I know how the liberal puke profs will react:
"You poor downtrodden victim of racism! Only a genius would mangle the English language! How would you like your 'A,' with a plus, or would you prefer just a plain old 100 for exemplary participation?"
If you've never seen him in action on H&C, his entire demeanor is unnerving. The guy exudes racism.
Was this the one who was "sick" so she couldn't attend regular school? She was getting tutored so could take all available AP classes while kids attending school could not? This is so great! LOL I never had heard!
I remember the last HandC. He didn't let Mike get a word in edgewise. In fact, everytime I see Charles Barron I want to slap HIM for my sanity.
That is a "I have soooo won this round of victocracy!" smile! The same one one's bratty little brother might give you when he gets Mom to "poor baby" him and blame you for the lamp HE broke.
Gives me shivers.
Charles Barron = "Slappy"
LOL! ;-D
I think that is a Nehru jacket....named after Indira Ghandi's daddy.
They went out with Laugh In.
Yes, it was. I'm really curious what happened to her after Harvard rescinded her admission.
Yep. Her father was a RAT judge, and taught his daughter how to game the system. I never could quite figure out how this mysterious fatiguing "illness" she had could keep the girl out of class, but not out of doing all sorts of volunteer work to enhance her resume. Not to mention how she was somehow able to go to Disney World on her senior class trip without being fatigued!
"If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it Moorestown High School in south Jersey?
Yes, it was. I'm really curious what happened to her after Harvard rescinded her admission."
The principal there was formerly my boss and has since left MHS. No love lost here!!
Wow! Do you know where Blair Hornstine ended up? And did the townpeople hate her as much as it seemed?
Don't know---he was at my school before going to Moorestown--I can find out, however, having connections there through others!!
