Kerry Refuses to Release Divorce Records; Illinois Leader Fights

The same media establishment that was so eager to unearth the divorce files of GOP Senate nominee Jack Ryan and destroy his candidacy is still reluctant to give Sen. John Kerry the same treatment. Thank heaven for the Illinois Leader.

As we noted last week, Leader Media Inc. President Dan Proft announced he would sue to open the Democrat presidential candidate's records to the public.

"Tuesday, the national media began bombarding IllinoisLeader.com, questioning the fledgling operation's intention to take on a fight with national political implications," the conservative Web site reported.

"The Chicago Tribune and a Los Angeles Family Court judge have established a new standard for the release of marital and custodial documents," Proft said. "OK, then everyone in the public arena needs to be held to that standard. John Kerry is the start, but there will be others we will seek to hold to this new standard."

The Leader reported that Proft would appear tonight on Fox News Channel's top-rated "The O'Reilly Factor" and that he had been interviewed by CBS News, ABC News and national print media.

The question hanging in the air: Why are the Tribune and its fellow media giants sitting around with their fingers up their noses when it comes to a potential president's secrets? Oh, right: Kerry is a Democrat.

Kerry's Wall of Silence

Meanwhile, Kerry doesn't want his divorce and custody records exposed anymore than he wants the public to have scrutiny of his complete military and medical records.

"I have no intention of doing that at all. There's no reason whatsoever. It's history, ancient history," he said in Phoenix in an interview with Spanish-language broadcaster Telemundo.

"My ex-wife [Julia Thorne] and I are terrific friends, very proud of our children. We have stayed close as an extended family in a sense through those years," he insisted.

"It's none of anybody's business. Period."

He failed to say if he thought Ryan's private records were anybody's business.

If there's a bombshell in there, it will boost John F*ckin'
standing with the "its all about sex, its time to move on" crowd.

The media that went wall to wall with the Ryan saga can't seem to be shielding Kerry.

The media had a lot of fun with Newt's treatment of his ex wife. Kerry should get the same grief.

F-in' John-boy Kerry should have thought about this before he decided to run. I don't know why he's getting a free ride about what he did post-Viet Nam. I hope somebody's going to drag that out again as things heat up in the next few months.

Anyone have any idea what might be in there?

As far as I can tell, anything racy would only add spice to a guy who is so colorless he appears in black and white even in person.

Actually, Senator Kerry, public records - such as divorce proceedings, are very much "our business" hence the term "PUBLIC RECORDS".

This will come out, if not by a judge's decision, than by a leak to smokinggun.com or another similiar venue.

Ketchup boy sure does feel the need to hide stuff, doesn't he? Between this, his family's complete tax returns for the last few years, curious missing data out of his military record.....whats he got to hide?

Kerry's Divorce records mean nothing. They are an intrusion into his personal privacy and his ex-wife's.

That being said, His military records should be opened to public debate. It will yield great insight into this fraud's lack of character. Everything he has done since Vietnam reveals the same man that made up lies to promote his agenda. The truth means nothing to him.

Democratic senator Fiengold (who is up for reelection this year) has gone through a divorce as well. I see no reason why we shouldn't sue to open up his records as well.

the rumors and speculation I've heard on other threads involves child support payments and John Karry not making them. In other words: dead-beat dad John Fn Kerry. Of course, the media won't want that to get out.

I agree that Kerry's divorce records are none of the public's business. But neither were Jack Ryan's. I am opposed to double standards and the only way I know to prevent them is to play tit-for-tat until a mutually agreeable ceasefire can be worked out.

Meanwhile, I still want to see Clinton's medical records, which were promised a dozen years ago.

Remember how the Dems/press went nuts over the store of Newt divorcing his wife while she was in the hospital...
All is fair I guess....

Yep. The Soviets finally got serious about arms control when Reagan made the arms race a for-real race.

Break out the CONSERVATIVE judical activists, the lawsuits for divorce papers, etc. If that is how they want to play, I will not go along with unilateral disarmament...

I've said this all along..........what would really torpedo Kerry would be the realease of his wife's (Tay-Ray-Za's) 1040 tax returns.........now THAT would be some good reading!!!!!!

I learned why . . .

WLS is the ABC affiliate in Chicago, and it is owned and operated by Disney, whose executive is George Mitchell, the former Senate Democratic Majority Leader.

Any surprise George Mitchell is playing his card to help the Dems?
