My solo Freep against Moveon.org last night (long but good)
Me

Posted on 06/29/2004 6:56:03 PM PDT by God luvs America

It has been a very busy 12 hours of Freeping by this Freeper, culminating with this morning's action at the Today Show-but more on that later. It actually started last night when I had the opportunity to Freep not one but a pair of functions sponsored by Moveon.org. For more than six months I've been chomping at the bit to have a chance to Freep Moveon but it has not worked out. Last night I was able to Freep Moveon along with manure Mike's new movie and in essence killed two birds with one stone.

I got wind that Moveon was holding "house parties" around the nation Monday night to discuss manure Mike's new movie.  Fortunately for me two of these parties were taking place close to home; one started at 7PM with the other beginning an hour later.

My strategy was simple; make signs that would cheese off the people going to these parties and ruin their evening.  First the signs.

I bought a cheap piece of foamboard from Staples and some paint so I could have a double sided sign.  One side read "Terrorists say 'Yes' to Kerry".  The other was more to the point...it simply read "Death to Moveon!"  I was a little wary about using that term as it is not Christian-like or God-like if you prefer, but I thought these are the same people who have publicly compared my President to Hitler, the same group that exploited the Statue of Liberty by placing a bag over her head in an ad, the same organization whose financial terrorists leader, an ungrateful immigrant named George Soros, said their was no difference between the prisoner abuse scandal at Abu Graib and 9-11, where innocent friends of mine had died.....thinking of that I was alright with the sign.

I got to the first "party" 20-minutes before it started...a nice neighborhood in upper Westchester county named Goldens Bridge where the average house goes for $700K.  I parked my car, grabbed my sign and started to walk back and forth in front of the house where the people were throwing the gig.  I should tell you, I came straight from work and was still wearing a suit and tie.  The first to arrive was a pair of ladies in a BMW suv...I shoved the sign in their direction so they could read "Death to Moveon" and they were mortified...so much so they drove past the house and kept going.  Eventually they turned around and made a beeline up the driveway when I was on the other side of the house.  It was a late arriving crowd but this continued to happen; people would come down the street, see me holding a sign which I'm sure they expected it to read, "The party's here" then they got the shock of their lives.

Finally they sent someone out to "help with parking", ha-ha.

The guy looked at me and said, "What's wrong with Moveon?"  I did not respond as I didn't want to get into it with him.  "You don't talk?" he asked...I responded, "not to you!"  Cars would drive past me mortified at what they saw and the "parking helper" would funnel them up a side street and get them to the "party house" through some back route so they could avoid dealing with me again.  Some old guy parked his car and asked me on his way to the party house, "how is this death going to occur? Incineration? Execution? Lynching?"  I responded, "As far as I'm concerned any and all methods necessary!"

I heard a rustling in the woods near the driveway of the party house and there was some pyscho-woman taking a picture of me through the trees.  I stuck my sign in her direction to give her a better view.  She came out and I flipped to the "Terrorists say yes to Kerry" side but she asked me to flip it around so she could get a clear shot of "Death to Moveon"....I was not going to accommodate her.  She said, "I think it's great people get to say what they want." "More power to you," I replied.  She told her friend she did not get the response from me she wanted (which probably was "eff-you American hater but I was civil).

After badgering me to flip the sign over and realizing I wouldn't do it she left...or so I thought.  A few more party goers drove by, so my sign, then left.  I heard a car behind me, turned around and there was psycho-women again, in the car, camera in hand.  She seemed satisfied to get a picture of the side which read "Death to Moveon" even though my butt was also in the part of the action.

A neighbor stopped by and asked the guy "helping" with parking what was going on.  I overhead the conversation and he kept mentioning "Moveon" and the word "grassroots" several times yet I never heard him say "billionaire financier", "psycho-ex vice president" or "liberal media" at all.

Finally it was time to leave for party number two, I got in my car and started on my way.  Oh yeah, by the time I had reached the "party house" on my way out the "parking helper" had left!

Party number two had a nice twist to it as it was being thrown by "Democrats of Northern Westchester".  It was in Pound Ridge, an exclusive neighborhood.  The house hosting the party was on a dead end street.  Most of the houses on this street easily sell for $2-million a piece.  I parked my car, got out with my sign and flashed it as the cars approached the party.

Cars would quickly drive up the road not knowing where the house was, see my sign, drive even faster, then have hit the brakes hard so as to not pass the house.  This party, unlike the first, was well attended and eventually word got to the owner that some guy in a shirt and tie was outside his house with a sign wishing death onto Moveon...boy he was pissed!  I heard yelling and screaming in the driveway,  "I don't care if he hears what I'm saying!" is what they were shouting towards me.  I guess that was suppose to intimidate me yet all it did was motivate me as I stood further out in the road to make sure everyone read my sign!

They next tried the friendly approach as the homeowners son came out and very nicely offered me "a soda or bottle of water".  "No thank you" I politely said.  After 20-minutes some guy came out and said he wanted to interview me...."no thanks" I responded.  But after thinking about it I said "why not."  He identified himself as a reporter with the Bedford Register Record, a local weekly paper.  He asked me a few questions then apologized, "I didn't expect anyone to be out here protesting so I'm not prepared."

First he asked me if I saw manure mike's movie and I said, "there is no way I would drop $.10 in that dirtbags pocket.  He has a history of American-hating going back twenty years to his days at Mother Jones."  At this point he complimented me on my knowledge.  I also pointed out to him that none of my sign made reference to the movie so please don't tell me "I should see the movie before I criticize it."

He then asked me if I thought the side that read "Death to Moveon" was harsh.  I told him "yes" and struggled with it but then firmly stated all the reasons I mentioned above as to why I went ahead with it.  I told him, "Moveon has no problem with hate speech or rhetoric against those they disagree with and it is about time someone turns the tables on them!" He seemingly understood where I was coming from and asked me if I had lost friends in 9-11 to which I replied "yes" and named the local ones.  Finally I told him Moveon represents the best of the hypocrisy from the left, and he asked me to expand on that.  "Have you ever watched Al Gore talk at one of his moveon speeches? How he berates our President on environmental issues?"   He was familiar with it. "How ironic is it then that the guy protesting Moveon drives an economical, four cylinder, middle class car" I said pointing to my vehicle, "yet look what the host of the party drives."

I then pointed to a big, beautiful, green, gas-guzzling Ford Expedition parked in front of the house!! He laughed.  After that I was off!  (I should mention, he asked me my name but I first refused...he then said he didn't know if his editor would let him publish it without a name so I gave him my first name and half my last name).

I was still pretty pumped when I got home but I had to eat dinner and go to bed as this morning I caught a 5AM train into Manhattan for a collaborative operation with Protest Warrior at the Today Show to point out the biased liberal press.

Here's the link to the thread all about it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1162478/posts

and here's the link to the video: http://hq.protestwarrior.com/?page=/featured/NYC/operation_bias_check.php

The person making the sign go up and down or making it magically appear, disappear then reappear...that's me!

I just hope everyone realizes they can make a difference...go to Staples with $7.00, buy a piece of foamboard, a magic marker and make a sign then get out and tell the libs where they can go and let our President know we need him another four years!!!!

I hope you 'turn her' before the Presidential Election - 2004.

We no longer have the luxury of time.

You are one hell of an American. You have motivated me. I air some of my own local video work on our public access station. The next demonstration with these panty waists in my area will be videotaped and interviewed by me. I will then broadcast the dumba$$es.

Fantastic job.

you are da bomb! Ya know...one voice, one action....is all it takes to start a revolution. I suggest to all of the freepers on here to do one action....I'll be in San Francisco, hopefully, tomorrow, to counter the Answer crowd. I'll also be proudly wearing 'I love (HEART symbol) Halliburton' t-shirt...I think that counts for TWO actions!
It doesn't take much for you to get a bunch of friends out on Main Street U.S.A. and thank the coalition for freeing Iraq....signed, sealed, and delivered.
...an Army of one!!!!

Good work! Thank you for keeping them on their toes.

The NBC Freep reminds me of the morning I switched on the TV, it was on NBC and I stared mindlessly at it while trying to wake up. It was a rainy day and only a few people were standing outside the studio so the camera guy panned the small group slowly when all of a sudden an angel in a beige raincoat and hat opened the poster board he/she was holding, just as the camera stopped on them.

The sign read: BILL CLINTON SUCKS! I have never laughed so hard so early in the morning.

Was that you by any chance? :-)

Thanks to both of you for what you are doing.....Here in Indiana even the dems hate Kerry...SO there aren't many things to do....But I do share books and offer my opinion and a few facts.

Wonder if I could declare residency in one of the marginal states and use an absentee ballot.....just a thought......Of course I wouldn't vote here too....
