Ann Coulter's book, Treason, explains the origin of the UN. Truman put Algar Hiss in charge of founding the UN. Hiss was a Soviet spy, proven by the the Venona Project. A SOVIET SPY CONSTRUCTED AND MASTERMINDED THE UN! It never had a chance to succeed in spreading freedom.
It would be interesting to know who recommended and pushed Hiss for that position. I am not sure, Truman knew much more than how to tie his shoes and play politics.
