Well if Algore "invented" the internet, then I'm guessing that Clinton definitely invented this.

Okay, so this guy is worried about some stranger hitting on his girlfriend, yet he is cheating on her. Words fail me.....

The lauding of personal corruption does not fare well in a self-governing society, whose very basis is honesty and integrity. Needless to say, those who finance or support these sorts of nefarious enterprises will not be called to task when the local DA has to expend a lot of resources to debunk organized alibis in court cases.

Wait'll one of these "anonymous" club members is charged as an accessory to some serious crime. All it'll take is some yo-yo taking it one step further to something more serious than just lying to his wife. That ought to put a quick end to these clubs.

Seems to me if you need to go through this much trouble to get away from your girl/boy friend, then perhaps it's time to be single again.

You cannot blame technology. The technology is just a tool in hands of wicked men (or women)...

In Logan's case, she promptly used the alibi club she had started to get out of a blind date. She sent out a text message asking for help, and in came a response from a stranger in San Jose who agreed to call the blind date, pretend to be Logan's boss, and explain that she had to go to Europe for a training seminar. This is the fishiest thing I've ever heard... Why on earth would anyone have their boss call their blind date to explain why the date needed to be broken? This excuse would have been far more plausible if the girl had just called the date herself and given him this excuse, IMHO.

Sometimes I feel as if I'm visiting from another planet. I just read a story about thousands of liars congregating to lie to thousands of others. They also have one of these "clubs" where like minded strangers can meet and have sex in public toilets an alleyways.
God help us.
This sucks. I'm going to look into starting a totalitarian theocratic Christian state. It's apparent that people can't handle freedom and need morality forced upon them.

"It lets you control your environment," said Harry Kargman, chief executive of Kargo, a New York company that plans to begin selling in July a variety of cell-phone sounds for $2.99, including the rasp of a hacking cough to simulate lung infection. "It's not necessarily malicious or nefarious," Kargman said. Mr. Rooney knows who is behind all of this.

This also opens up the possibility of being blackmailed by the person who offers to give a phony excuse.

"It worked out pretty good," said Hall" Kenny Hall, the 20 year old college student from Denver, is overlooking the fact that his little scheme has now been published in the L.A. Daily News, as well as on the internet. The word is out on you, Kenny. You're not as slick as you think you are.
Maybe in the future your significant others will be able to spy on you with your own phone. It could be secretly rigged to send camera signal to them whenever they wished. ROFL

"...a network of several thousand mobile-phone users who, through text messaging, help one another establish alibis and make excuses.... When I was younger than I am now, I overheard someone once say , 'good intentions can occasionally pave the way to hell' and in this case, the end of civilization as we know it is certainly near. (frowns and realizes he's only half joking) I cannot possibly be living in a world this jaded and that's coming from the perspective of a person born and raised in L.A.
