Sadly, they could change their technique. What if they start with women? One report said they have some 20 captured already. Then, children? You think that won't get them attention?

They are barbarous thugs. They will do whatever it takes to get their point across, their message out.

Well, I won't dispute that with you but ulitmately they do it because they get their rocks off on it. Or the reactions to it.
At one point in my first book ("Bargained for Exchange"), I described terrorists as basically psychopaths who, if they hadn't found some psuedo-ideology or larger stage would be doing the same things for different reasons - or sitting around pulling wings off flies.
I look forward to the Iraquis dealing with these cowards and wouldn't mind seeing the Pakis given a bit of a free hand for a moment or two.
Indeed, sadly, given the PC manacles being placed on our military and intelligence (no criticism of them), it's looking like the battle needs to be taken over by those who understand the rules.

Depends how one defines "work." It doesn't work in that it does not result in gaining the terrorist demands to release fellow terrorists. On the other hand, it does work if the left and others can blame Bush policies for the head sawings instead the head sawers (as has been the case).

What do you mean it doesn't work? It seems to be working pretty dog-gone well to me.

These people are in this for the long haul. They don't measure their victories in days, weeks, or even months. But just look at what has happened so far in 2004: Spain is out of Iraq, "world opinion" (whatever that means) is more against the US than ever, and even here in our own country, the most recent poll on the subject indicates that a majority of Americans think that going into Iraq was a mistake.

I hate to say it, but I think what they're doing is working exceptionally well.
