Without slapping America in the face with the harshness of the incident, Americans will do as they are, forget that there are people who doubtlessly would be here inflicting other injury on our public had we not taken the battle to them. If our troops were not providing targets for every terrorist in the Middle East, and dealing with them, then civillians would be dealing with them here. We forget this at our peril.
Hey, don't think I don't see there's a difference between them AT ALL. There is certainly argument to be made there.
But there should be no distinction in what is publicly permissible and the perception difference of one being improper for TV and the other being a-OK is purely politically driven. The left would show a schoolbus full of bloody dead babies in prime time if it hurt Bush, and the PC police would shoot smokers if they could, but both ally to complain bitterly anytime it's shown on TV that there are people in the world who will hurt Americans if given a chance, and what the result will be.
